During the opening night of his world tour "Futuresex/Loveshow", Justin Timberlake paid tribute to Elvis. "Because it's Elvis's birthday, and because I'm from Memphis, I'd like to do one of his songs", Justin said, right before...

Have to disagree here. Although I think JT has the talent of a retarded goldfish when it comes to his so-called "music", I think it's great that a current artist paid tribute to Elvis on his birthday with a song.
I'd rather have Timberlake sing Elvis on stage than ANY jumpsuit-wearing "tribute artist" or impersonator.
Just be grateful that a modern artist paid Elvis some respect!
Whether you think Timberlake is a loser or not, at least someone of today can take the time out to remember Elvis. Then, perhaps, some of his fans might then like to explore just how Elvis was / is.
It is called respect for an artist that came before him.
Tony Bennett wouldn't be able to reach today's kids, not really.
Anyway, it's better than having any of today's artists slagging Elvis off.
i truly think that if people wanted to pay respects to elvis then it should be a minute of slience. not some creep who used to be in a boy band

A minute of silence should only be used for those who have just died, or those who died in war and other horrendous circumstances.
It is almost 30 years after Elvis' death. And as much as I still admire and respect him, a minute's silence would be inappropriate.
And so what if Timberlake was in a boy band? So was Frank Sinatra once!
Justin Timberlake should not be on the Elvis topic.
Nothing special to write home about.![]()
Frank
Every man has a flaming star
I think regardless of what anyone thinks about him it was a nice thing to do i say good on him.

I'm not really a fan of Timberlake, but I think there's absolutely nothing wrong with him paying tribute to Elvis.
The Timberlake tribute led to 200 articles about it being posted on Google news, so it's good to see that Elvis' name is being kept alive in this manner.
What would you rather have: remember in '77 when Elvis died, that revolting creature Johny Rotten said, "Good riddance to bad rubbish!".
As much as I think Timberlake's a bit of a tool and devoid of any discernible talent, I'll give him ten points for the tribute.
Any positive mention of the Man is welcomed, even by talentless gits!
what the hell is wrong when he pays a tribute to elvis??
thanks justin
I'd like to go to Graceland
Memphis,Tennessee
Right!!
I'm not a fan but I don't dislike his music so much..I think he has talent![]()
I know he's from Memphis too and he appreciates Elvis very much; to me it's always a positive thing to remember Elvis and pay tributes to him.
I can't discuss his version of Elvis' songs (I've read he sang Heartbreak Hotel) but I respect singers who like singing his songs on stage and pay tributes to him.
As Robbie Williams did with his song "Advertising Space" and singing Suspicious Minds, if I remember well .![]()
Imo, any artist today that pays tribute to Elvis is ok in my book. JT is an alright fellow, just not into his type of music.
"How do I get placed in situations like this? Ah hell, I guess it's all part of showbusiness "~ Elvis in his limo on his way to perform in Omaha, NE on June 19th 1977
A fan captured his performance:
