2007 Is sure to be an astounding year for Elvis fans everywhere. The 30th Anniversary is certain to generate a mountain of Elvis related publicity.

During the past 50 years or so, how did we oldies survive all the downside aspects of the Elvis story?
Just think of the awful media coverage we weathered in our stride, Goldmanic, the Judas clones, the fat jumpsuited fools, and the ducks etc.

Well we may have slipped, stumbled and almost fallen by the wayside, BUT we were Elvis fans after all, and once an Elvis fan...........always an Elvis fan. How could it be otherwise!

Those insecure Elvis fans discussing the lack of respect for Elvis by EPE and the media underestimate the intelligence of today's youngsters.

Many of the teenagers around here often mocked me, by doing their impressions of Elvis's Hound Dog and the Thankyouverymuch, uh huhs!

Well for the past couple of weeks these same people now are walking past shops and stores which have large images of Elvis 1956 in their windows for all to see. Blue Christmas is being played and Elvis Calenders are all over the place. There is more Elvis music on sale than I have ever seen. The fat Elvis image is destroyed by all that.

One quality Elvis CD or early movie can totally eclipse all, yes ALL the negativity.

Yes 2007 will see Elvis's music and his fans gain the respect of millions, ..........er billions! It was earned the hard way.

I'm hoping for the same thing under our tree. Also hoping that in 2007 I can find more CDs and DVDs locally. I finally came across one single copy of the Elvis R&B CD yesterday and grabbed it.

I have seen recently the ed sullivan show and i like the concept of presenting the show in its entire lengh with all the dumb acts that were interwinded with elvis performances. It shows how disturbing, how out of place he might have been for a regular, middle class, average american, how disturbing his "landing" in the middle of the living room could thrill the children and scare their parents to death ( none less ! ). I belong to a generation that wasn't there at the time and it makes me think about how different life turned out to be after 1956 and why so many famous artists refers to elvis at the ed sullivan show as a electric shock that changed their life. I can relate to that, even if i wasn't there, thanks to the great work that has been done on the image of the DVD, and also because of the valuable leaflet that is also in the slip case, really if all the 2007 products are of that quality, this is definitely going to the THE year !
