I just read somewhere else about a special guest who is supposed to be there, but since I don't see it mentioned on Jordan's site, nevermind that for now.

It looks like we are going to Memphis in August, but because of family commitments it may have to be the week before Elvis Week that we go! :angry: But, to try and be positive, it is nice to go when it's not super-crowded. But to be realistic, an Elvis crowd is a nice crowd, as far as crowds go. Well, I'll be happy to go regardless of when it is.

I was there for EP25, and the night of the Candlelight Vigil was just so awesome. I forget now how many thousands of people were there in the street, all there for Elvis. It was a pretty young crowd too, which was a reassuring thing in terms of the future of Elvis's fandom. And Jordan held Vernon's house open then too. Very cool experience. I wonder why the estate doesn't buy the house and make it part of the tour. Wouldn't it be great to lengthen the tour by adding a walk through Elvis's back yard into Vernon's place? It's a neat house. One interesting feature is that in the master bedroom is what looks like a hot tub but it's actually a small pool--I forget how deep, but it's deep! I believe the carpet basically went all the way up to the edge. But that was a fun gathering place, and Jordan was a gracious host.

So who is going?

Wish I could!!!!! I think it is a great idea to add the Vernon house to the tour, I would love to see that, and espacialy when you can get there by walking thru Elvis garden. (h) OOOOO I wish I could go :'(

I have been desperate to go for many years...but never had the spare cash to be able to :'(
If i wait until i have i will never see Graceland....and that would be devastating.......i can't let that happen :mad:

So, i have been talking to my wife and we have come to an agreement. Sometime in 2006....i will be there....whether i can afford it or not...loan...whatever...i will go and pay my respects to the man who has given me so much enjoyment for most of my life (y)

Well I WANT to go in 2007. It's not set in stone yet.

I wanted to go in 2006 too to get a feel of things...I've never been there. I think it's sad that I live maybe 4 or so states away and people who live overseas have gotton to Memphis before me :lol: Keep the hope alive, Elena :D You'll make it there. Maybe even before me!

With school and bills and everything I even made a little sign to motivate myself: GRACELAND 2007...OR BUST! :lol:

I really don't want to brag here...... :hmm: oh yes I do...... :clap: but I'm going to Vernons house, and to the TCB Concert, and to Nashville and to Tupelo and to Beale Street, and to Sun studio.............then home for a rest......If anyone is there from the 5th onwards to 17th, just give me a call at the Clarion, or send me a PM through here or the FECC board. To the others trying to save for the trip, you'll get there one day.......having a goal is great, but other things just sometimes get in the way, like mortgages and kids.

Carolyn, I was thinking you'd probably be chiming in soon, since I'd heard you say before that you were going. More likely than not, I'll be there during some of the time that you're there. It's great that you know what you are going to do already, which things you have to see and do, etc. I am sure it will be an experience you'll never forget. :D

Wish I could go....when I was there for EW00, they were working on the annex next to the Jungle Room....was curious as to what they were adding in there, and now that I know it's a collection of personal stuff INCLUDING stuff brought down from upstairs, I would REALLY love to see it!!

I've heard that Vernon's house is very nice....would love to see that too!!

Unfortunately, it appears that I am only able to make it to Memphis every 13 years (first trip in 1987, second trip in 2000)...so I have to wait until 2013 I think!! :angry:

Bobby....you'll have to let us know how Vernon's house is, if you are able to tour it when you are there even though you'll be there the week before EW!!
