I just read somewhere else about a special guest who is supposed to be there, but since I don't see it mentioned on Jordan's site, nevermind that for now.
It looks like we are going to Memphis in August, but because of family commitments it may have to be the week before Elvis Week that we go! But, to try and be positive, it is nice to go when it's not super-crowded. But to be realistic, an Elvis crowd is a nice crowd, as far as crowds go. Well, I'll be happy to go regardless of when it is.
I was there for EP25, and the night of the Candlelight Vigil was just so awesome. I forget now how many thousands of people were there in the street, all there for Elvis. It was a pretty young crowd too, which was a reassuring thing in terms of the future of Elvis's fandom. And Jordan held Vernon's house open then too. Very cool experience. I wonder why the estate doesn't buy the house and make it part of the tour. Wouldn't it be great to lengthen the tour by adding a walk through Elvis's back yard into Vernon's place? It's a neat house. One interesting feature is that in the master bedroom is what looks like a hot tub but it's actually a small pool--I forget how deep, but it's deep! I believe the carpet basically went all the way up to the edge. But that was a fun gathering place, and Jordan was a gracious host.
So who is going?
