I think you mean that Elvis should have listened to it because he would have changed his medicine taking habits, even though the song is about judging other people.
I think the people in power these days, Prime Ministers and Presidents should listen to this song.... as well as If I Can Dream rather than Elvis....... both my mixes ofcourse lol Rob :D
You?re right
Yeah, I couldn't agree more. There are so many saying it was wrong being Elvis.. But I know Elvis didn't cause any war or deadly disease. So we should be ****ing grateful (warmly or deeply appreciative of kindness or benefits received) for all the good stuff he left us.
To me, Change Of Habit was the most underrated movie track he ever recorded. It had that Beatles mystique about it with that funky base line opening and the heavy hard rock drumming at the end which was practically the closest EP ever came to Hard Rock music in his last decade on earth. Such a shame too that Parker and RCA didn't see this as a potential #1 hit to follow up the hugely successful Suspicious Minds in early 1970. Instead they went with the softer Don't Cry Daddy. What great lyrics this song had then and today politically spoken.(y)
Change Of habit
(Words & music by B. Kaye - B. Weisman)
If you're in old habits
Set in your old ways
Changes are a-comin'
For these are changing days
And if your head is in the sand
While things are goin' on
What you need, what you need,
What you need is a change of habit
Now if you're in the habit
To let your temper fly
When you talk with people
Who don't see eye to eye
And if you don't believe it
There's a newer world ahead
What you need, what you need,
What you need is a change of habit
A change of habit, a change of outlook
A change of heart, you'll be all right
The halls of darkness
Have doors that open
It's never too late
To see the light
So if you're in the habit
Of putting people down
Just because they're different
From the wrong side of town
Well, don't count on any medals son
They're pinning none on you
What you need, what you need,
What you need is a change of habit
Thankyou for these lyrics EP75 ! brill !

Just the right thread I guess. Sharing is caring.
And as my wife says "bragging is nagging" ( just a little ribbing !!! Maurice!:D )
I don't mind. I learnt the art of bragging from the great George Bernard Shaw, a genius at it. I'm just an amateur in comparison:-)
It was very nice of Mary Tyler Moore to take the time to send the photograph, from her office in New York.
