Review for Something for Everybody
First the Artwork
Fantastically put together. Beautiful lay out and CD cover and booklet. I would rather have some pictures of Elvis in the studio recording, but you cant have everything. lol
Too many songs to name each one so I will pick highlights
CD1
Has an excellent sound and mixing is outstanding. It is wonderful that they mixed the album songs as well as the singles that came out during the same time.
The album is an underrated album that has some great rockers, some great blues tunes, as well as some wonderful ballads. There's Always Me a fantastic ballad that should of been a single. Give Me the Right a great blues number. Then singles which brought us classics-Little Sister, His Latest Flame, and Anything thats part of you. The others are good as well, but these mentioned are GREAT.
CD2
Now we get to go behind the scenes and hear these classics put together. With false starts and chatter that can only come to light through FTD. We are very grateful. Sound continues to hold tight as well as the mixing. This new FTD label CD is a must for any Elvis fan. I like the way they broke it up on this set. The Album Side 1 & 2, then comes the Singles, next we get the Early Complete Takes, then Album Sesssion Outtakes, then closes with the Last Takes (before masters).
Great set to complete the Classic Releases. Nice follow up to Elvis is Back. Do not compare the two as far as the sound and Elvis' rawness. But it is a very good follow up.
Keep up the great work FTD
Until we meet again God bless Adios
