Witch do you like the live verson or the master? :supriced:
the live version, 2 reasons
1-much more feeling
2-Elvis died in 6 weeks, it was so close to how he lived his life its not funny
The LIVE version, so much feeling in it....(y)
The live version is a thousand times better than the :'( master from 1971.
Which do I prefer? The "Live" version. I can't stand the studio "master".
Not just '77 but ALL the live versions better than the master. I feel the same about "How Great Thou Art" too.
I like the live version. He means each and every word.Is if he could see that My way would become his song even though it was Sinatra's song.Noone could sing My Way like Elvis did.(y)

live version... theres so much passion and feeling in it. its very intense and powerful and the fact that it was so close to his death adds to the sadness and emotions of the song and the beautiful way he sang it. i also love the aloha my way.
I love the live version. He put so much feeling into it.
Without a doubt, the live versions (the later the better) beats the studio version. That one is way too clean for a song like this.
I for sure choose the "My Way" Live version 1977 :D
Both versions are beautiful... But I may pic the live one... It's so touching.
I like both but most the live version...every live is ok, '77 but also the "Aloha" concert
I personally like the live version as well as the master . Both versions are recorded at different times in Elvis career -
The live version that he did, at Hawaii in 1973 (ALOHA SHOWS ) are good . The master was recorded 2 -3 -yrs prior to the legendary televised broadcast . -
Elvis inserted the song into his repetoire on many concerts after 1971 . te very last time he performed this song was at his very last concert - June 26th 1977 , at Indianapolis .
its a very dramatic song an Elvis did a grewat job on this song .
He sang it with feeling .
Long May He Reign A King :king:
Live Version GREAT:D
The live version is much better in my opinion....I love watching him do it in 1977. Its like he is telling everyone off. (y)
Hands down, it has to be the live versions from 1977!!! (y)
He just puts so much feeling and power into those live performances from 1977. With the studio master, it almost seems like he is hesitant to hit the last notes of the song for some reason. :hmm:
TCB!

I think there is a nice charming touch to Elvis' earlier studio performance of 'My Way' and it's hard to believe that this was kept in the vaults for about twenty-four years. It's great to have this version in your collection because we are now in a position to listen to it's development through the years into Elvis' repertoire.
Nevertheless, it has just got to be the hit single Live version from his final tour that wins hands-down...Elvis was so determined to pull off a polished performance of the song one more time for the cameras, as he did in Hawaii four and a half years earlier.
But, this is Elvis' most passionate reading of the song and he starts off literally doing that - reading the words...but there is a great human honesty about this performance and it's one of the few highlights of the final TV Special.
NEA.
Thats the key, the studio version gives you an idea of how the song developed into the powerhouse it became in concert. In the studio Elvis seems almost timid when he sings it compared to his live versions. The audience always drew out the best in Elvis.
77 live,comes first..;)
