i'm 15, and my dad has the moody blue album on vinyl. the story how i fell in love with the album. my dad was transferring vinyl to cd and moody blue was one of those, i absolutely loved it. still do, i was only just starting as an Elvis fan, but those magical tunes 'unchained melody, if you love me, moody blue, and his voice just UN-BE-LIEVEABLE!
What kind of pics do u mean, from the recording sessions, or the concerts?
Photos from his concerts from that year and the recording session. But I don't think there are any photos from the recording session that I know of.
Thank you for your nice story and your reply. I am happy to know you are a Elvis fan. That's great.

As a young kid I really dug "Let Me Be There" and "Little Darlin". My father had just a few albums from Elvis in the 70s and had this one only one tape. I loved it most of it.
Moody Blue could have been a much better selling album with a non-live picture on front of it, more emphasize on the fact that it was recorded at his home, some songs should have been dropped or added from the From EP Blvd album, and had this setlist:
Side A - Country Folk and Rock
01. Moody Blue
02. For The Heart
03. Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain
04. Way Down
05. Pledging My Love
06. He'll Have To Go
07. Pledging My Love
Side B - The Ballads
08. Bitter They Are, Harder They Fall
09. Hurt
10. Danny Boy
11. Never Again
12. It's Easy For You
13. She Thinks I Still Care
Side 2 should be less over-produced and have a undubbed/unplugged kinda feeling (like on the FTD release).
The problem with RCA was (and still is) that they wanted to release EVERYTHING that Elvis recorded. Many songs were only recorded to rehearse, doing someone a favour or to fill the album. If RCA had the guts to select only the good songs, the sales and image of Elvis would have been better.
The MOODY BLUE album is one of my favorite albums!!! (y)
I've never been a huge fan of LITTLE DARLIN', though I understand RCA had little original material to work with when assembling the album. (This of course explains why RCA had to go back to 1974 to pull LET ME BE THERE from the Memphis '74 show to add to the MOODY BLUE album!)
Aside from the inclusion of LITTLE DARLIN', I truly think the MOODY BLUE album is a very good album. A couple of Elvis' best ballads (in my opinion), IT'S EASY FOR YOU and PLEDGING MY LOVE, are the definite highlights of this album!!!

There were a lot of test pressings made from the Moody Blue album.
Besides on blue vinyl, it also got pressed in several other colors and multicolored pressings.
Those albums and singles are very valuable collectors items.
Here are some pics:
Thank you Sonny, these are great. Thank you for posting them up for me to see. These are really interesting especially the one on the bottom left. The record looks wild!! Can you just see that one going around on a turntable!
Have a good day.
Tommy
These are great and Rare scans Sonny
Tommy, Elvis did over over 150 shows (i think) in 76, and YES there are some photos around the time of the recording sessions. there are definitely ones for the february sessions, but i dunno about session pics for the october sessions, though i have seen candid pics eg Elvis at a gas station with fans
just go to Candid Central, and also for 76 pics, go to Elvis in concert.com. is there anything else you want to know?:D
Great album. Now that you have all mentioned it, I'm listening to it on my iPod! For The Heart is rocking out at the present, but Moody Blue is one of my all tiem favourite Elvis songs, along with Way Down and Promised Land a few years before, they all prove Elvis was still able to rock.
I especially love, Moody Blue on The Jungle Room Sessions! The, eh, 'Italian Version!'
Thank you Scott for your nice reply and all the information.
