Elvis Week..Grave Pix
Someone was so kind and did somethin' real nice for me. My friend, Donna, wrote "Jonelle loves you Elvis!!" on a pink piece of paper and put it on his grave for me since I couldn't be there this year during Elvis week. These pictures left me in tears and I wanted to share them with you!

Oh that was so nice! Great photos. I was glad to view them. It's sad every time I see this though.
Thanks,

No problem Tommy! It is, and as I recall from the first year of my life, on August 16th I'd cry non-stop (and trust me, i was quite baby!)....my parents never knew why till a little while ago

I can really understand the emotions of seeing Elvis' grave with your name on that paper.... It makes the connection with your (and our) idol so visible suddenly.....
You're real lucky (and a wonderful thing done by your friend). These are pictures to treasure. Thanks for sharing with us.
Does she has more pictures of her trip to Graceland/Memphis?
-
Yes, I got very emotional. It's just something about Elvis that makes me think of what i'd feel my father died that connets me to Lisa...so this was very hard for me
Yes she does...however I do not have them....I could possibly see if I can pull them from her though... :D

Great words Albert! You're right. I guess this is a special connection with that someone you love.
And FireEyes, I love Welcome to my World too, it's a precious song... well, Elvis has a lot of awesome songs!

Thank you for sharing those. I grew up in Memphis not far from Graceland, in Whitehaven, and lived there for several years, even got to see him in concert in 76 but I haven't been back to Graceland in about ten years. It is good to see so many flowers and sad to see the grave. He was my surrogate father growing up and I miss him greatly. I have loads of memories surrounding Memphis and Elvis. You are inspiring me to make the pilgrimage once more! thanks again and good luck in your career. You have a beautiful voice and I was already a fan of yours, even before I knew you were an Elvis fan! Keep the flame!
