Movie "Loving You" question
Hello!
I watched "Loving You." This was the first Elvis movie I've seen. I really liked it, and I'm taken aback by how very, very young Elvis was back then. He grew up a lot by the 1968 special!
Was the movie made before, or after Gladys died? The story seems to emphasize that (Elvis' character) Deke Rivers' parents were dead.
There was a scene with Glinda and Deke after he crashes the car, where she's yelling at him about waiting for his "mama" to come back, which I found a bit chilling (actually, a little creepy) -- if Gladys had died before that. Another scene was in the beginning, where Deke answers Glinda's question about his mom by saying "she's dead" quite emphatically.
That was also kinda disturbing, in light of how Elvis practically mourned his entire life over his mother. The Elvis books I've read pretty much say that he was a bit on the superstitious side...how did he feel about saying those lines?
And finally, is it me, or did Elvis, in the movie, remind you of a little puppy??? :D
