I remember in the early eighties a 2 LP set called Rockin' and Romantic Elvis. Can't recall the exact tracks on them but i believe they were all 60's tracks.
Anyhow...thats what made me think of Elvis' ballads. At the time i was more into Rockin' Elvis. As the years went on i found myself swaying towards Romantic. Now - it just depends on my mood at the time. ;)
So, on to the question in hand.
I adore all of Elvis' Ballads whether they be 50's 60's or 70's. I probably lean towards the 70's actually.
But thinking back at what tracks were on that set .... boy there are some fantastic 60's ballads. (y)
There are so many to choose from but here goes - in no order.....
60's
Mine
For The Millionth and the last time
Theres always Me
It Hurts Me
Ask Me
Love Me Tonight
Surrender
those sprung to mind straight away...yes i have probably missed a few
Then theres -
70's
Fol Old times sake ( very under-rated and Out Of This World on my opinion )
What now my love
Its Midnight
Its Easy for you ( Jungle Room Sessions ;) )
For the good times
and finally -
50's
Don't ask me why
I need you so ( absolute class (y) )
Love Me
Loving You
I could go on.....but that will do for now.
Man...i haven't seen that lp set for years....would have made a great cd release i reckon
