LETTERMAN'S ELVIS WEEK- FINAL THOUGHTS #NO ETA HATERS PLEASE#
DISCLAIMER #The title of this post makes it clear that this topic concerns an Elvis Tribute Artist / impersonator / stylist / illusionist. So with that being said, I will assume that those members of this board who are clearly ETA haters will not have clicked on this topic and will of course not be reading this.
So those of us who embrace all of Elvis' wonderful fans in the spirit of the King can enjoy this topic without having any sneering and / or hateful comments posted here.
Now that we know the haters will NOT have clicked here because well.....they are haters, let's get on and enjoy the topic:
================================================== ======================
Well what a week it's been! Not just 1 night of Elvis- but an entire week! And on one of the top rated shows in America!!
Millions have watched the ETAs and I'm convinced that this will have woken up a "sleeping giant" of fans not only in America but all over the World at a time when Elvis had fallen out of the public conciousness.
Sometimes it only takes 1 event or promotion to renew Elvis' popularity all over again- just like what happened with the Nike World Cup commercial which used "A Little Less Conversation" as it's theme.
These amazing Tribute Artists have made it an extraordinary week- the like of which we have'nt seen since Elvis' death- if ever.
Now that it's over, I'm sure it will be one of those moments in time we will look back on and wish it could happen all over again.
Congratulations once again to the dedicated and talented Tribute Artists who did such an amazing job bringing Elvis to millions of people!

I'm not a Letterman fan but it was good to see Elvis was advertised on his show all week. Letterman did read one night some of the Elvis stats which was good to see. He gave the 1 billion records sold and repeated it twice....I love that part.

when I saw Shawn Klush win the BBC 'Worlds greatest Elvis' on the 30th anniversary I thought he was 'spookily' good......but he's c*ap now. seen him twice live and he got more 'over' confident each time. Vocals aren't up to much now.....and he's getting a bit chunky too

First things first, I'm not a hater - but out of all these performances you posted JR, I liked Justin Shandors more than the others.

Re: LETTERMAN'S ELVIS WEEK- FINAL THOUGHTS #NO ETA HATERS PLEASE#
I was happy to see Letterman give some time to Elvis to people who perhaps have not investigated him before.
Hopefully something they see will spur that because the best tribute artist is still not the real thing in charisma or talent.
I am not a hater of anything, each person who is a Tribute artist has to ask themselves:
"Have I done justice to the memory of Elvis Presley....?"
I'm sure each in there heart of hearts knows the true answer for their situation.
There was only 1 Elvis Presley so its hard to compare his extraordinary talent to those who give tribute.
I do not go to see Tribute Artists-but I do like the vocal ability of Doug Church to recreate the Elvis sound and feel.

Too right Ken......there will be ONLY 1 Elvis.........nobody could ever come close to his talent and charisma
If I want to watch or listen, I want Elvis....not an ETA. However, he isn't here to go to a live event.....and that's where they fill the gap.....but only if they're good, and respectful of his memory

Letterman did a recap of all the ETA’s last night. I wasn't expecting for him to do that, I just happen to be watching his show.
