Re: Larry Geller on Elvis in Hawaii?
I enjoyed his first book. Larry has a way of telling things that I can understand some fans don't like. I guess he is too philosophical and dramatic. But all his stories ring true to me since they are not too different from the ones the other guys tell.
Re: Larry Geller on Elvis in Hawaii?
I think Joe also said Elvis was thinking of taking some time off to get well once all the years commitments we over. Did Dr Nick also say the same thing? I think Larry got tainted with a very heavy brush because in part to his beliefs and in part to the in fighting amongst the MM. I don't believe everything he says just like i don't believe everything any of those close to Elvis say. Not saying they lie just that memory is a perculiar thing. Read a few book by the same MM's and their are slight differances in the same story.
But i do think it's logical that if Elvis was going to take time off it would be Hawaii he would head to after all it's were he went most times to chill.
Re: Larry Geller on Elvis in Hawaii?
Lamar Fike said he told Elvis lets shut it down for a year and go to Hawaii. He said Elvis said yeah lets do it after this tour.

Poor old Larry, the guy lives in a dream world where angels and fairies live. I believe Larry has the best of intentions, he tries to tell the fans what they want to hear based on a pinch of facts and a healthy dose of wishful thinking. I don't think he has any malice in him just inaccurate story telling.

This is my feeling about him too. He is one who I don't doubt loved Elvis but as most of them, his ego overrides much of his telling.
