Mother is dying

Please all say a prayer and keep good thoughts for me and my family-my moms COPD and congestive heart failure are about to take her-she went into the the hospital last Tuesday and Friday we were told her lungs are shot-Saturday night they called at 2:30 am to say she would not make it thru the night-somehow she is still with us as of today but when she wakes up when her morphine wears off-she begins to rattle and wheeze horribly, she does not even have enough breath to speak anymore how she has made it till today is a mystery.....it is a horrid way to pass away gasping for air everytime she wakes from the morphine.
If you smoke, give it up for yourself and family.

Thank you all...... probably not much longer she has not eaten or drank anything since Saturday, because she has a living will she is not even getting an IV with nutrients or fluids the only fluids she gets are in the shots of morphine and another drug that is being administered to keep her comfortable. Like I said this is a horrid way to die, and to watch for loved ones. thanks again

I am sorry to read this Ken! My mom's COPD among other things is rapidly getting worse too. She fell last month the day she got home from Memphis and her health has only gotten worse since. I feel your pain my friend. I will say a prayer for you and your family. Losing a loved one is such a hard thing to go through.

Mom finally passed over at 1:23 Thursday afternoon. She lasted almost 5 full days longer than was expected since Saturday they called and said she would not make it thru the night. Thank You all.

I'm so sorry Ken for your loss. I know with your family and us here we will help ease your pain over time. I believe like Tommy that she is in a better place and will watch over you.
