Re: When God Calls Me Home (Short Documentary)
Several documentaries mixed into one.
I never have understood why do they same he became a parody of himself.
Re: When God Calls Me Home (Short Documentary)
This just reiterates the fact that his death has and continues to leave a gaping hole that will never be filled.
I've read the transcript between Elvis and Red, but never heard the audio, small segment that it was, it didn't sound like Elvis to me.
Re: When God Calls Me Home (Short Documentary)
The total transcript of the call is right here at TCB in the archives:

I have heard the whole phone call before and it does sound like him thru most of it, some parts not as much. I think some of the reasons are that Red was using a cheap recorder and you’re really just hearing Red a lot more on the tape. Also, I hate to admit it but Elvis is just out of it.
I think the only way you can hear the whole conversation is to buy the audio. It use to be free online but now you have to buy it. Maybe someone else has a link to a free version.

Yes I have heard the whole conversation also and it does sound like a very tired Elvis thru most of it. Jordans Elvis World use to have it on their site but the link would not work for me.

Wasn't the audio on All The Kings Men or some other documentary?
Re: When God Calls Me Home (Short Documentary)
How Parker could continue booking Elvis in the shape he was in that CBS footage is beyond me. He was a walking dead in that TV especial. We can argue that Elvis wanted to keep touring and that it was his choice but any manager in his right mind and with some sense of responsability wouldn't have done it. It's clear to me what Parker only cared about, and it wasn't "his boy" for sure.
