'Prince From Another Planet' - Forthcoming Release
As posted on the EPE Website:
"Sony Music Panel
Friday, August 17, 4:30 p.m. Elvis Week Main Stage, Graceland. Find out more about upcoming releases from John Jackson, Vice President of A&R and Content Development for Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, and Ernst Jorgensen and Roger Semon, record producers for Sony and the team responsible for the Follow That Dream Record label. In anticipation of the upcoming release of “Prince From Another Planet,” included will be a screening of the never-before-seen footage from Elvis’ performance in Madison Square Garden in June 1972. The panel will also include more about the “I am an Elvis Fan” release, upcoming FTD projects and a chance to get answers to your questions about Elvis’ music."
I expect that 'Prince From Another Planet' will be the long anticipated Legacy release of the Vic Anesini (hopefully) remastered Madison Square Garden Shows. The video footage could just be being used to promote the release. Hopefully an extensive booklet will be included giving the full story of how the shows came about and comments from fans and entertainers alike who witnessed them. The sound should be awesome as should the photographic content.
Really looking forward to this one.

Re: 'Prince From Another Planet' - Forthcoming Release
I have to wonder though...if this truly turns out to be an official Legacy release, why is it being renamed and not just being released in the "Classic Albums" series as the MSG show with the AFTERNOON show coupled with it? Not that I am complaining in the least...it will be awesome to finally have the original MSG show in upgraded quality!! But I'm wondering if this "Prince From Another Planet" idea is something planned for the FTD label instead?? :hmm:
Can't wait to find out more on this...thanks Brian for the information!! (y)
TCB!

This is the guy who produced/remixed the MSG project. He's won Grammys for his work with the likes of Coldplay, Jon Mayer among so many others. We are in for a serious modern day sound upgrade and treat with this set!(y) http://www.mbrauer.com/discography2.asp

Really? I don't see it that way. I hope it comes out and I hope it is better than what we already have. Then I'll believe it and buy it, if not I won't. Same as you.

No my friend if the world never questioned anything down thru time many mysteries would have not been solved, many scams would go on forever, disease would never be conquered and rumors would never be confirmed.
Who, what, where, and when are the 4 cornerstones of good honest reporters......and at least 2 reputable sources in order to publish a story.....questions are a necessary part of life..not necessarily negative or pessimistic....but prudent and fair.

True. With Sony, cautious optimism are the words of the day. Hopefully this will come to pass and it will be a home run. Remember 2002 and the internet abuzz with MSG box set rumors and supposed confirmations. This, however seems to be more concrete.
