The future of the TCB Band - GREAT review and add your opinion
Hi Gang,
You can now read Arjan Deelen's GREAT review of the ‘Elvis Presley in Concert’ screen show in Copenhagen last Saturday below.
It seems that EPE wants to continue doing this show without the original musicians and singers. Instead, they want to use anonymous players, so they can make more money.
With this article, EIN would like to start a debate amongst fans whether this really is the right thing to do.
What do you think?
You can respond at the end of the article.
James Burton stated that "You know, this is such a wonderful show. Elvis would have loved it. And now with Norbert in the band, the show is better than ever. We are having a great time up there. It’s a wonderful tribute to Elvis. We all want to continue doing this show for the fans for as long as we can".

I have seen this Concert 22 times and it just gets better with each outing. As far as I am concerned NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING, can come along to beat it. Seeing it live with other fans is pure excitement and cannot be compared to watching a video at home. This is the Jewel in EPE's crown and the one that will bring new fans to the fold.

I understand EPE's stance on wanting to go a different And fresher direction. The current and original members are all 70+ in age and that is not healthy for them to be traveling on a daily basis as they do. I'm wondering if the hectic traveling and lifestyle that the Sweet Inspirations were living on the show didn't contribute to Myrna's fatal health.
I know if I were 15-20 years old and going to see the show, I would want to see the live musicians be more youthful looking.

My opinion is that without the original TCB Band members, then it really isn't the "complete" Elvis experience. Yes, I understand occasionally having to get a musician to replace one of the original band members due to prior commitments, illness, etc. But the thought of a whole new band playing with Elvis...especially musicians that NEVER played with him originally?? It kind of loses the whole idea of the original concept, doesn't it??? :hmm:
It's nice to hear that the original band members still want to do the show...that is FANTASTIC news!! Unfortunately (not that it's a big surprise to anyone that knows the company) EPE wants to replace the original members with new, less expensive band members!!! Such a shame that, yet once again, EPE shows their hand to the fans that it's ALL about the money with them regardless of what the fans may/may not want!!!
In any case, without a majority of the original musicians/singers performing with the show, it just doesn't seem right for "Elvis - The Concert" to continue...
TCB!

The original concept was a great idea. I've saw Elvis in concert 3 times in the 70's when I was a kid. Elvis The Concert was honestly the next beast thing. The same musicians, singers and orchestra was what made the show. I've seen it three times here in the States. Really have no interest once the original TCB Band, Joe Gurcio Orchestra, Stamps and Sweets are no longer involved. Just not really seeing the point.

From the reviews. the shows on this tour seem better then in previous years. Like to someday meet James, Ronnie and the guys one day, if and when they play Canada.

I quite agree Brian.(y)(y)
Let the guys play on if they want to....but I would still go to see this, it's all about the atmosphere and love in the building for Elvis with other fans.......pure magic:clap::clap:

"it's all about the atmosphere and love in the building for Elvis with other fans.......pure magic"
Could not agree more!
I went to NYC to see this show in Feb last year, loved every minute of it. I loved that there were people from all ages and walks of life there, just like there would be at a real show. The love in the room was palpable and not just love for Elvis. When the guys sang, "Sweet, Sweet Sprit" it was a moment I will never forget, truly our man was gifted by God to bring people together. :D I have my ticket for the Elvis in Concert at the FED EX Forum in Memphis during Elvis week and I am thrilled.
