Happy Birthday Buddy!!
I saw Buddy Holly and The Crickets on their UK Tour in 1958. It was my first rock 'n' roll concert. Will never forget it.

Fantastic to hear you attended a Buddy Holly concert! What do you remember most about the performance? Was there anything that stood out most from the show?

Hi Asian1,
The show was at The Trocadero, Elephant And Castle, South London, and I remember Buddy kicking off the show with, in hindsight, was a strange opener - 'Everyday'. Loved the whole band sound and Buddy's stratocaster. He sang all his greatest hits. I remember Buddy doing some Chuck Berry duckwalks during his solos. The compare of the show was veteran comedian Des O'Connor. Prior to Buddy and The Crickets coming on stage Des walked on with a black briefcase to tell some jokes. On leaving the stage he turned the briefcase around and it had 'ELVIS' in big white letters written on the side. That brought lots of screams. Needless to say after seeing Buddy and The Crickets it changed my life and I always wanted to be a rock 'n' roll singer. What an act to witness as your first rock concert!!!
