Thank you so much...lovely video. Charlie, J.D. were always my favorites and I always liked Gordon too.
so beautiful this video thank you for showing it. Charlie was good man.
Not seen this before. Thanks for posting.
You know, it's interesting. There must have been a hell of a lot of jealousy around and within the MM blokes. I always thought Charlie was very sincere and, in my opinion, comes across as very genuine. Yet the book written by Billy Smith, Lamar and Marty, it comes across that Charlie was just in it for the money. From what I have seen and read, I just don't believe that. Full stop.
Also, they put George Klein down quite a bit. Saying George thought himself as Elvis's "best friend" and yet he was no more than a local DJ who occasionally saw Elvis.
It really is hard to know who to believe, because even in their book they disagree over the same situation. :hmm:The more I read about the MM, I like how Marty comes across. I think Billy was probably the closest to Elvis, especially in the last months and years. But I guess they all had their place as friends to Elvis. I just get irritated when they all come out and say "they" were his "best" friend!
In this clip also, Charlie says he stayed in the bedroom next to the "TV Room" downstairs. I read that Jerry Schilling said the same thing. Does anyone actually know who lived (not just the odd night) at Graceland over the years?
Thanks for posting anyway.
Charlie was a great guy who loved Elvis dearly, thank you for the video.
Charlie I think saw Elvis as a big brother type figure-I think he had his own hero worship for Elvis.
He seemed to me to be a fairly sweet man and someone Elvis liked to have close on stage they seemed to have fun goofing around.
I thought that was a really nice video. Thanks for posting it.
