While finishing his vacation in Denver with Linda and his staff, Elvis has Dr. Nick join them in Aspen where he rented a house. The next day Elvis returned to Memphis.

Elvis starts a four day recording session in Memphis at American Studios. On this evening the recording session lasted six hours. Elvis recorded " Long Black Limousine and " This Is The Story"

Elvis purchases three Cadillac's and two Lincolns for friends. He spends over $70,000.

Elvis performed at the Louisiana Hayride, Municipal Auditorium, Shreveport.
Elvis wore a rust-colored suit, black-dotted purple tie, and pink socks and performed Hearts Of Stone, That's All Right and Tweedle Dee.
Colonel Parker and Tom Diskin arrived in Shreveport and this was almost certainly the first time either of them saw Elvis perform.
The Colonel took steps to forge a link with Bob Neal after the show.
