Is this picture from 1970?
I have given this picture a face lift, I got this photo off Kenny some time ago, It has always struck me as odd that someone would attempt to paint out another person in a photo unless it was their ex boyfriend or friend they have fallen out with, You can clearly see fingers on Elvis' shoulder in the before picture and what can only be described as a bad paint Job.
The picture looks to be from around August to November 1970 judging by the hair and the sideburns. Does anybody know the person in the picture or the story behind it??

Considering how long his hair was by December, this strikes me as August-September. Great cleanup work, Matt. Would love to know the full story and see the original.

great photo, i'd love to know the story behind it. Maybe the woman in the photo edited out the other person because she wanted a pic with just her and Elvis. Now she has a wonderful version either way with your version

that does look a bit freaky - those fingers on Elvis' shoulder in the top image

His hair is too short for November. I go along with Lonnie and say it's around August. His face has that typical "That's The Way It Is" look about it. Also around November he would probably already be in the routine of wearing the "Gold Attendance Belt".
Big compliment on the restoration job tho....

My guess is early september 1970 right after the Vegas shows. Maybe still in Vegas.:hmm:

I agree. Looks like feb 18th at Las Vegas. Elvis wears that belt in 1970 between february and july.

I'm almost 100% certain that this is February actually. It's seems like I've seen pictures from this day at the same time, and I remember it as being taken the 23rd of February. I'm pretty certain about this one.

I agree and think it is around February or March as well. Either Vegas or the Astrodome. Elvis' skin was darker during That's the Way It Is. His hair is also a little shorter on the sides than in this photo than it was in That's the way it is.
