Re: nick adams gay rumours
These sort of stories are about all over the place, and not just about Elvis. They're probably made up so no need to think anymore about them. And if they were true, and Elvis was bisexual, is this the end of the world? Doesnt effect my opinion on Elvis.
Think about when these stories came out; Elvis is seen as the devil in human form, he wore very feminine colours, he wore makeup etc there were bound to be 'gay' allegations.
Re: nick adams gay rumours
This story as been around for years.
Re: nick adams gay rumours
This is where it came from. Question: when did Elvis have the time or the inclination to be both a "womanizer " & gay?
And no, it wouldn't bother me either way.

Re: nick adams gay rumours
I just went thru the current information on Wiki about Elvis, I did not see any references to Elvis and being possibly gay-I know the info changes from time to time, but the rumor has no substance and a lot of imaginative speculation.
Re: nick adams gay rumours
Reading those stories it seems a lot of it started from Nick himself. All those articles seem to point at the fact Nick tried to capitalise on his friendship with James dean and Elvis, and that could mean making up these stories to sensationalise his friendship with them. I read somewhere that Elvis himself told June Juanico that Nick was a 'sad and lonely' guy.
Re: nick adams gay rumours
Same stuff has been said about Mick Jagger and Bowie, Lennon and Epstein, James Dean and I don't remember who (Nick? lol), over and over, so what?
Anyway, I don't think its true. As Italian Fan put it: "Think about when these stories came out; Elvis is seen as the devil in human form, he wore very feminine colours, he wore makeup etc there were bound to be 'gay' allegations". Yes, he also shot his mother and did marihuana before going on stage. He did "black" music, he shaked his hips, he must be gay, a pervert, a comunist, he was the forerunner of Satan's music: he did rock and roll.
That square was people in the 50's. Elvis changed that.
The amazing is that today, when suposedly 50's squareness is been left behind, stories like these are supposed to be shocking?
No he was not gay or bisexual, but, I mean: If Elvis was actually gay or bisexual so what? what is wrong with that? He was still the nice human being we love, more over, he was still the amazing artist he was.

Wiki has had a running commentary in its own debate on this idea that Elvis was bisexual.
This "speculation" has no real basis of fact only implications due to the "speculation" on the relationship between James Dean and Adams.
Adams was an opportunist-he hung around with Dean because he wanted the limelight to spill over onto him to further his career-when Dean died Elvis hit Hollywood and once again Adams saw an opportunity to be near the glow of true superstardom, and he took advantage of this.
Wiki in their internal discussions of what should and should not be included in its pages has repeatidly found lack of any real evidence to support the Bret "highly speculative theory"
Bret and his supporters (who seem to find Elvis the golden goose of heterosexual men) are constantly trying to push his point.
Having read nearly every biography on Elvis and hundreds of bios of other people (10 on Dean, and one on Adams) just find no hint of truth to this Bret driven speculation.
The problem in todays society is because most of the world has lost its innocence in the last 40 years-the world thinks everything and everybody is suspect in all actions, relationships and circumstances.
Nothing can be what it is on the surface......EVERYTHING has to be deeper or have a hidden meaning.
That is not always the case-but it does not stop people like Bret from trying to make a dollar from the implication.

The story is just playing silly - btw, interesting comment over "no 50's squareness left behind" - a governmental program perhaps?
Anyway, no important it ain't.. but how can you be macho and a sex symbol to women if you're gay?

Sure you can be a sex symbol to woman even if you're gay. Look at Rock Hudson, these days it's Adam Lambert. Being gay doesn't stop a man from being beautiful and attractive to woman, it just means they are "unavailable".:D
Re: nick adams gay rumours
If Elvis had been gay, there is no way that it would be just a vague rumour involving one guy. Lots of people would have come forward to make money. It's no coincidence that the rumour involves someone who has been dead since 1968. Elvis loved women - so much so that it was impossible for him to be faithful to one.

Ricky Martin, who I thought was incredibly attractive
Clay Aiken, who a lot of other women thought was - something else.
Re: nick adams gay rumours
maybe adams was bi but elvis NOOOOOO WAY
I personally do feel some adoration on adams side when i look at pics of themm together but Elvis haha he doesn't even notice.
Re: nick adams gay rumours
I don't feel that Elvis was aware that Nick was gay, at least not in the beginning of their friendship. Nick just followed Elvis like he did James Dean....for the publicity as he wasn't doing all that well on his own.
