My favourite is 'Blue Christmas' and this is really only because I love the '68 Special and this song has Elvis' stamp on it. Real bluesy, his facial expressions, it has the lot.......

"Merry Christmas Baby" wins the pot of gold in my contest!
so does "It wont seem like Christmas without you"
Merry Christmas Baby and Oh Come All Ye Faithful - both ends of the spectrum :)
Heh-I haven't begun listening to them-but sure it's worth start beginning   mmmm-I guess this question is even harder for me to answer to than that of my most favorite Elvis' song (though I have less to choose from, heh  )
The first that comes to my mind are:
Blue Christmas (hey,who doesn't like it ;) )
Oh liittle town of Bethlehem (I remember myself writing down words from it to learn English and couldn't understand what in.... does the word lettle mean (cause Elvis pronounces it so)
Merry Christmas baby (mmmmmm- so sexy and boisterous blues, one of BEST Elvis' blues-songs ever)
Here comes Santa Clause -the other versions are all making goose-bumps-soooo awfully slow and "yuck" :P
If I get home on Christmas day -just to imagine all that scene-mmmmm-sweet :!:
Those two paired together would have made a great single! ;)Quote:

On a related note, today in the mail I got the Memories Of Christmas LP.
Though it's only 8 songs, that has always been a favorite Elvis Christmas CD of mine. The previously unreleased material on it is superior in my mind to the tracks which debuted on If Every Day Was Like Christmas.
I haven't played any Christmas music yet, but it seems to me that the unreleased version of O Come, All Ye Faithful on Memories... is better--not just longer--than the released one.
I'll Be Home On Christmas Day* and If Every Day Was Like Christmas also appear in strong alternate versions, and then there's the daddy of them all, Merry Christmas Baby in its 7 minute, 59 seconds' glory. It would be nice to have JB's guitar solo overdub applied to this version as well, though I'm glad this version does exist without it.
* I just thought of this: What do you all think of the version heard on Today, Tomorrow, and Forever which features this verse (I think this is verbatim):
Well, it's been so long
since I've seen little John
Michelle, Christine, and Kathy
And I forgot
with all the presents that I bought
A purse for little sister to carry
Is that an original verse which Elvis decided to drop, or was it ad-libbed? It doesn't seem to fit, it's lyrically weak, and sounded from Elvis' delivery as though it may well have been sung off the cuff. But I thought perhaps it was a part of the original song, and Elvis, recognizing it as being goofy, decided not to use it. Which is it?
I have several I really like. But the one that gets to me everytime is "Holly
Leaves and Christmas Trees". Very sad. A reminder that not everyone has a Merry Christmas.
Well said  The Christmas season no 1 song should be at least have a christmas feel to it, I personally think EPE should release Elvis' christmas song " I'm dreaming of a White Christmas" it is wonderful and when I am listening to it I picture walking in the snow all wrapped up and hearing the crisp snow crunching under my feet:clap: for it is the season to be Jolly :wiggle: :pepsi:  :cheers:Quote:

No thoughts on I'll Be Home On Christmas Day from Today, Tomorrow, and Forever?
