Vernon voice is just "OK," more country and western style and not a "hint" of Elvis in his voice I dont think?:king:

Not that Vernon sang here and then (the basic pic showes the whole family singing) but that he recorded a song. And even wrote it! Maybe he should had write some more.

You're right Vegas 74, his singing is more Country-orientated than Elvis' but the voice itself is not that far away from Elvis'. The song sounds a bit like a Johnny Cash stereotype, specially when he falls in bass.
Sounds pretty good. Might be inetresting how it would sound with an overdubbed acustic guitar or some other instruments.

Thank you for sharing this, it was interesting to hear it! When was this recorded? He had really nice voice... His tone was also baritone I think, like Elvis' voice. I wonder if they sang together. It sounded like a gospel song.

He has a nice voice. The Southern Gospel influence is evident.

Very southern country style. Very interesting to hear. I wonder if Elvis ever heard this recording since it was done in '73.

I thought I read somewhere,that both Gladys and Vernon were really good singers.That when all 3 Presley's sang together you could feel the hair on the back of neck stand up.I can't remember if it was Red West,that said that or not.I do remember reading that in an Elvis book at one point in time.
