Hurricane Gustav
I'm just letting everyone know that I'll be leaving later today because we are in the direct path of Hurricane Gustav. I live only 20 miles from the coast of Louisiana about 200 miles west of New Orleans. Fortunately, my parents have a second home in Mississippi and we'll be there until the storm has made landfall and its threat is no longer imminent.

Please keep my family, as well as those residents of my state in your prayers. Although I, as well as my family, have always been extremely fortunate in surviving past storms with lots more luck than sense, I've seen first hand the destruction a storm like Hurricane Gustav can leave in its wake -- and folks, its not pretty nor anything to be taken lightly. Hopefully, by mid-week (or at the latest, end of the week), things will return to normal and I'll be back enjoying TCB again. I hope I don't miss anything exciting!!!!!

HI Elizabeth
Thank you for letting us know and sending out prayers for your family and the other people who are in the way if the Hurricane. Its really scary when you look back on Hurricane Katrina and the lives it took and plus the damage. You are so right Liz its very serious stuff, like l was telling you where l live is no hurricanes, just bad storms so my heart goes out to the people who have the worry about these kinda of storms. take care and be safe and will be waiting to hear from you.

Hopefully this hurricane will peter out before it hits and that no one will get hurt or lose their homes.

I've got relatives down there, and they've already evacuated.
This one looks to be a pretty mean storm, so lets pray for everyone in it's path.

Elizabeth, my thoughts are with you and your family and all the others who are in the path of the hurricane. I just got an email from tcbfanclub, they let us know the following:
August 2008
Hurricane Gustav
30 August 2008
As hurricane Gustav gains momentum and heads towards the Gulf Coast, fears for the safety of those on board the Elvis Cruise escalate (see Events section). We have just received a message from Jerry and would like to reassure everyone that the TCB Band, their wives and all aboard the ship are safe and well and enjoying their time onboard.
Hurricane Gustav is now a category 4 storm with winds of up to 160 miles per hour. It is predicted that it will hit central Louisiana on Tuesday with the same force as Hurricane Katrina, 3 years ago.

It's going to be a bad one I'm afraid. They are having people evacuate all the way up to Jefferson, Texas..which is only 60 miles South of me. Bear in mind....we are 6 hours from the coast. That's how strong this one is.:supriced::supriced::supriced:
