that one was heard, i chose Aloha because of the fact that it was the first Via Sat show by an entertainer
Good question, Liz. I feel Elvis had so many professional accomplishments, but I would say the Aloha concert was his biggest, since it was viewed worldwide...(y)

I actually voted for the 1971 JC award. He was so incredibly proud to be recognized and honored in high esteem with others that were not in his field, yet were highly educated and knowledgable. This had to have an enormous esteem boast for him b/c I think not being educated made him feel uncomfortable when not in his comfortable bubble. I've read in several books that he carried this award around with him everywhere he went when he toured and would show it to others. Even the pictures of him accepting the award and making his speech show a very humble man which comes across in the pictures.
that's the one i wanted to vote for, but i didn't see it listed! instead i chose the grammy for sacred music. he worshiped thru his music, lived for his religious side.Quote:

I voted for his album sales and multi platinum awards etc. I think that his album sales and all the awards he received over the years was the basis for the rest of his many accomplishments! There may not of been an Aloha concert or 68 special if Elvis had not of sold the albums that he did! It was his music that made him who he was and because of his large album sales made him popular world wide and gave him such a large fan base.
To see the magnitude of his achievements one has to visit Graceland and see the display of his records and these awards, it absolutely unbelievable!!:notworthy

That's so hard to tell... Elvis made history in so many aspects. I picked the 50s option here... :blush: Because is my favorite, and cause I consider it as a huge moment. But also, the 73 Aloha is a big deal.
I voted for 1968 Comeback special.Elvis needed something to boost his ego,and something that could prove he still had it,(which he did),and It also got him out of his artistic rut.Well atleast or awhile...

I voted for the Aloha Satellite concert as well as I feel that really set him apart from other entertainers and really made the world take notice. I think he was really proud to be the first to be broadcast worldwide.
Actually I think he was proud of all the above accomplishments and all was well deserved. Tough question.....:D

I voted for Aloha because of the worldwide audience and Elvis was the first to do that but the other accomplishments were great as well.
1954-1958 Elvis talking country and rhythm and blues and fusing them together to create something different then introducing them to a television audience of millions going along with all the number one hits and albums he had.
1968 Elvis gives one of the greatest performances in history. Greil Marcus called it music that bleeds. The 68 special is widely credited as being the first unplugged performance on t.v. and starting the trend for the M.T.V unplugged series
1969 return to live performances Elvis was on fire
1971 Elvis was only 36 years old when he received the grammy lifetime achievement award making him the youngest reciepent ever.
1971 The Jaycess award was a nice achievement as well.
Elvis record sales supposedly all in all Elvis has sold 1 billion records world wide and that is really fantastic and quite an achievement

I think it was an incredible moment of his career...to have the possibility to use modern technology to reach so many people around the world with a performance :clap:

No other artists can catch up to Elvis's total.
The Aloha was is biggest show and watched worldwide but the UK did not see it on first showing until later that year. The UK are the best fans and we got cheated out of history.
After 4 years singing live on stage in Las Vegas. Why was Elvis so nervous on the Aloha show?
You thought he was use to big audiences.
Hmm, I kind of don't understand what everbody think's so great about the Aloha Special..
And It's not fair to say that Elvis' greatest achievment was that a lot of people saw him on TV at the same time.. Because the fact that the show was broadcast via sattelite has nothing, at all, to do with Elvis.

I voted for 1973 Aloha Satellite Concert, but, I think That Elvis Greatest Accomplishment is been Elvis Presley .... been yourself Is greatest accomplishment for All us. my greatest accomplishment is life for 47 years with speech problems and more things.... there alot things I had Too Fight For.
