Elvis Presley and Jim Morrison are alive
Myths:
Elvis didn’t die in 1977 but used that as a cover to go into seclusion and get out of the public spotlight. Jim Morrison is alive and someone else’s body is in his grave.
Facts:
In spite of extensive and largely irrefutable evidence to the contrary, there are still those who believe that Elvis is alive and is periodically spotted in convenience stores, restaurants and trailer parks all over the world.

Some people still don’t believe that Morrison’s body is the one buried in his grave in a Paris cemetery. The official cause of Morrison’s was listed as a heart attack -- believed by many to have been drug related -- in 1971. One enterprising gentleman has even produced a video (for $24.95 plus shipping) that he claims is Morrison living the life of a cowboy in the Pacific Northwest. People who have seen the video say the man in it bears no resemblance whatsoever to Morrison, and other than the fact that many of his song lyrics had mystical themes, there is no evidence to suggest that his death was faked.

I also read a long time ago that the Col made Elvis go in to the army because he new that Elvis would burn out and the fans would get bored!

In John Carter Cash's book, he says June sometimes would reminisce about Elvis and wonder what it would have been like if she'd wound up with him. But that may have been her way of tweaking Johnny Cash, who apparently never found it very very easy to be true, to June or to his first wife. June said she told Johnny when he got rid of Elvis' letters that he shouldn't have done that - they were worth a lot of money (she was joking).

More on topic, here are a few myths out there now thanks to Walk the Line: that Elvis got Johnny Cash hooked on drugs, and that Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Roy Orbison all toured together on the same bill throughout the South in their Sun days.

THE DEATH OF ELVIS by Thompson & Cole; one of many sources. Elvis was actually reading a magazine called Sex and Psychic Energy. According to Dan Warlick (Shelby County Medical Examiner in 1977), "It was sorta' like a IF HER PISCES IS IN THIS POSITION, THEN YOUR CAPRICORN SHOULD BE HERE type of publication...very hardcore by 1977 standards."

It certainly wasn't porn; I really don't know why they bothered switching it with a book on the Shroud of Turin.

It is also referenced in Guralnick's Careless Love, among others.

Personally, I'd rather trust these two references than other sources.

Well, then I guess the myth I've read is that Elvis never wrote any letters - Yet, there are the letters to Anita, the letters to June, the letter to Nixon,. . .

btw, what a sense of humor June had! Elvis' letters certainly would've been worth a lot of money!:lmfao:

Warlick and Francisco both said there were never any pictures taken.
{even at the autopsy} Yet when this trial finally got to court in 1980 , there were pictures presented ,according to Thompson and Cole .

There was no Shroud of Tourin as it hadn't been written yet.
There was ; "A Scientific Search for the Face of Jesus"
Which even members of the MM claimed Geller got for him to read .

It just proves no one has the complete truth yet and probably never will.

Youre correct.The book is about the shroud of turin.Elvis was not reading it when he passed.That book was substituted because it just sounded better than what he actually was looking at.They were just doing damage control.

I take it your not one to major in the History of Christianity!

It is said that the imprint of a mans face on the shroud is that of Jesus Christ.

That book was written, published and in Graceland when Elvis died.

So, let me get this straight. Elvis died, sitting on the toliet, reading porn???

As far as what Elvis was reading in his own private bathroom. I could care less. It's immaterial to his death. ..at least to me.

The way this was answered {from some} only seems to be leading into a debate on religion, which I never do; even with friends.
What one believes ,as far as religion is their personal beliefs and something I would never make fun of .
