My father pointed this out to me today...
For all of you that own the Aloha CD look on the inside cover, which should be the back cover to the booklet that's inside the CD. It shows Elvis surrounded by a bunch of Hawiann Woman. But what I never noticed, and maybe I'm just slow, is that that is not Elvis from Aloha, it's Elvis from Madison Square Garden. Can anyone shed some light on where this photo came from? My Dad said (and looking at the picture this sounds plausible) that they must have cut and paste the picture there.
It's a picture from the same concert (Jacksonville) that was featured on the cover of Madison Square Garden, hence the myth that he actually wore the White Pyramid suit when he performed there. But the pic is not from any of the Garden shows.
The Hawaiian girl photo mock-up in the CD is a reproduction of that originally featured in the "cut-out" edition of the original Aloha album, ie it had a hole where the Red Lion suit photo was in the satellite pic on the front cover, and you could remove the insert.
Hope this makes sense ...
