Zac Efron To Remake Elvis Presley Film Blue Hawaii?
Zac Efron makes girls squeal and scream just as much as the king, Elvis Presley once did. But is the budding nineteen year old star really ready to take on an Elvis role? Mike Walker of the National Enquirer is reporting that for his first solo breakout movie, the teen idol is set to slip into Elvis Presley's flip-flops for a big-big-budget remake of the King's smash 1961 classic, Blue Hawaii!
The Enquirer's veteran gossip reports that the major studio deal's hush-hush until the ink's dried, but an insider told me: "It's a perfect vehicle for Zac! Not only can he sing and dance, but he's a truly great surfer and wants to perform his own surfing scenes."
Walker muses, "Brace yourselves for The Zac-Attack, ladies ? he's also slated for "High School Musical: The Movie," if Disney coughs up the right dough." Will he really make the Elvis film? It certainly seems like a decent fit.
But first he'll set his sights a little lower with a six degrees of separation. "We're working on developing a remake of Footloose, with me in the Kevin Bacon role, and an age-swap film like Big, Zac dished. "There?s other stuff but I don?t want to talk about it and then let people down."
