My favourite must be from "Elvis in concert",19 Jun 1977. and also the version from "Live on stage in Memphis" 20 March 1974
June 19, 1977 is simply better in my opinion. He hit the notes perfectly in each and every way. It was a powerful version.
Mhm..Very powerfull the last part :king:

Oh I LOVE this song !! I Love the one from the 1977 concert, he puts his soul into it. What an amazing voice he has =) :king:
thanks for your replys
I must go for the version on just pretend...wow it blowes me away(y)
If he had done that version on the Memphis show, they would have had to give him two grammys, one wouldn`t have been enough, lol
I love "How Great Thou Art" a very moving performance.

I like the stage version recorded in Memphis 1974. This is a happy version as he gets the crowd going wild when he repeats the last chorus.(y)
I also like the version in the CD "Live In Dallas" 1975 (y)
The CBS version shows Elvis could still dig down deep and recapture the magic when he really tried.A truly great rendition. The version on Just Pretend isnt far behind it.

I like every single version of it, but I think the best version is from 1977.
That ... "Oh my god"... line at the end of the song, always gives me goosebumps:blush: So powerful! :king:
Gotta go with the version from the CBS Special!!! (y)
If there is anyone that can listen to that version and still come away saying that Elvis' voice just wasn't as powerful in 1977 needs to have their hearing checked!!! ;)
TCB!
