I've reworked an old design I did some time ago for a disc containing the masters and available alternate versions of the 1975 studio recording sessions.
This is the new version.

Beautiful! You've got skills man! :D
That is fantastic! Completely original, totally professional, and basically just great to look at. :D
I just keep coming back into this thread to look at this cover. I love it!
Love it
Makes me wanna burn this custom compilation, just to have this fantastic artwork (just like JohnnyTyronne) :D
Thanks for the comments friends :D
I actually like the running order of this material better when placed in session chronology than the way they were originally sequenced on the LP (and having all the available alternates together on the same disc really provides a great overview of these sessions answell as a great listening experience).
Very nice Clint. The front and back cover pics are new to me, great choices. Where does everybody get those rare live shots from? Is there a specific book that you use?
Cheers
Johnny
Hi Johnny,
I scanned in the front and the back cover photos from the book The Life Of Elvis Presley by Sean Shaver.
The others I found after searching through the various photos I have collected via the internet.
They are all fantastic photos, great work by the photographers.
MY BOY, MY BOY!!!
My FAVORITE album of all time, and you've gone and taken it a step further!!
WHAT A MASTERPIECE!!! When are you gonna release this one??? :D
TCB!

Fantastic cover
A real beauty
Hi guys, thanks for the comments, after a couple of minor modifications I have now uploaded full size versions of these covers onto my website if anyone would like them.
Thanks.
Thanks Unchained,
I don't know about the inlays really, the reason I haven't often made them is simply because i don't often use jewel cases with a clear inlay tray thats all.
I never print out disc labels either for my own collection, (I don't like atatching adhesive labels to my discs generally), so, thats why I haven't been designing labels for alternate covers.
On the other hand, the clear plastic inlay does sometimes really enhance the overall effect, so, maybe I will make more inlays in future.
Having printed out the Today covers the inlay design seems to complement the overall design very well in my opinion.
I wonder how many collectors who print covers for their own use also like to have an inlay to go with them ......hmmmmmmm I'm gonna run a poll on this ;) (time for a new thread :D)
I usually always stick an inlay in, and have the title on the left edge so it can be seen when unopened. :DQuote:

Looks great Spinout, and like we say in my country: ?Niets meer aan doen? or in normal English, keep it this way cause I like it :D
Besides that, I like that CD label
Just want to add my 2 cents. Groovy, groovy, Groovy.

Mike,
You sure got a lot of favourite albums :D
But your right on this cover, it looks like a MASTERPIECE indeed.
All of Elvis' albums are my favorite album!! However, if I could only take 1 Elvis album with me to a deserted island, it would HAVE to be the TODAY album, so I guess that makes TODAY my all-time favorite album!!
Glad you agree with me on the beauty of this cover design!!
