Elvis wasn't in the best of shape when wearing this suit, but it has always been one of my very favorites!

Back of a replica one, thought i would add it as there are no clear photos of it.

Re: White Egyptian Bird Jumpsuit (aka) White Prehistoric or White Bicentennial (1976)
I was watching the 8mm films from 1976 last night and...I'm not sure...but I think that there is an interesting design element to this suit I never noticed before, that after 35 years and seeing Elvis in person TWICE wearing this jumpsuit...I never noticed that on the left side of this suit (Elvis' Right hip) there is a round circular design (like under his collar on the back). Being that most of the jumpsuit designs are "normally" symmetrical...there is NO design on the right side (Elvis' left hip).
I've not found two photos to prove or disprove this (just now started the detective work). Not that it matters...but being that I consider myself a member of the Jumpsuit Junkie Club in good standing and that I actually saw this suit in concert, I would have bet a pay check that it was the same on both hips...but I don't think it is.
...any thoughts?
Re: White Egyptian Bird Jumpsuit (aka) White Prehistoric or White Bicentennial (1976)
Hey, you're right, Brad. Just had a look through some pictures and the design was certainly missing by the time Elvis first wore this suit on tour, in Charlotte in March of '76. Can't tell from the photos I've seen whether it was also missing in December, '75, but if the design was embroidered directly on to the suit (as would seem a safe assumption) then it looks like someone at IC Costumes, or wherever the actual embroidering was done, just forgot to add the design to the left side. Oops.
Much more interesting than the two-button versus three-button Sundial debate that raged so many years... :D
Good eye!

There're plenty of pictures from Elvis' left side that shows the design is missing there; this one (from the gallery here) shows the same, given that the design on the left should be at least as visible as the design on the right in this view, and it also complements the picture of the replica suit's back above:

Hey, Brad...check out the topic in this forum regarding the BLUE suit...I posted on that, because the same thing is true of that suit. Hard to believe this is something none of us here noticed before; I wonder if makers of any replica suits noticed this asymmetry?
Here's the graphic I attached:

It didn't fall off either suit. And it's HIGHLY unlikely it was an oversight, not on both suits. Really odd asymmetry. I wonder why each version of the suit only has the one design on one side?
Re: White Egyptian Bird Jumpsuit (aka) White Prehistoric or White Bicentennial (1976)
Well, the fact that it's done that way on both the blue and white versions would indicate that it was intentional. It's interesting.

Re: White Egyptian Bird Jumpsuit (aka) White Prehistoric or White Bicentennial (1976)
the reason for there not being a design at the top of the left leg on these suits is in the pics post, Elvis most often would hang his left thumb on the chains on the belts and maybe they just decided to leave it out on these suits. the other thing about the different belts use is this belt had no chain and maybe wanted chain so he used the inca belt, but the front indian fell off so he used the second indian suit belt later. the blue version suit belt did have chain, and on that thread hangs his left thumb in the chain in more then a few pics.
