It's not correct to my ears to say that the sound quality is only average... :'(
I know it depends on your own pairs, but I find it a very good one. There aren't a lot of 'on tour' shows that you can find on good audio sources. The main part of very good audience recordings were recorded during different Vegas/ Tahoe Seasons.
'America's Own Vol.2' is one of the few exceptions and it is one hell of a show, highlighted by Elvis playing the piano and singing a wonderful rendition of "You'll never walk alone". This is one show that you shouldn't miss.

The recording sounds quite good for an audience taped performance. Elvis couldn't have been better, he really rocked the house!
