I agree that the velcro on the suits was while he was wearing them from 76 on, i've seen it on the tiger, blue rain suit (not the nashville suit ) and its on the sundial suit also. you can even see that in the CBS tv special in 77, he would try to keep pulling the belt up as a joke for a song like how great thou art but the belt never moved. it was just a matter of the belt not falling off on a mishap, and especially on a tv taping.

This suit although the artwork is still impressive and much better on the white version. the light blue just looks like pajamas to me, it doesn't work with him like the 72 light blue suits did when he was thin.
