I have a CDR of a good audience recording. It's a show from Toledo, April 23rd, 1977. I still don't have a cover for it (received it as a CDR). Being a busy guy (many hobbies) I always postponed making an alternate one.
So yesterday I decided to make one and quickly made a version of what I had in mind. But the one I had in mind didn't look so good afterall. So I continued trying. I have zipped the front, back and image as a set, so you can download it. This is the result:

Great cover, Albert. My only gripe would be that I am not wild about that reverse of the ST77 back cover photo (don't care too much for it either way), but overall I think it's very nice. You should be proud of your "comeback" effort. :)
It would be interesting to know how much thought and care and trial and error has gone into the FTD CD covers. My money would be on not many cases like this and most of the others the rest of you guys have done.
On that note, I wonder why on a few occasions in the past we have seen some preliminary versions of the FTD artwork, but not on any recent ones that I recall. The ones we have seen, I wonder if they were just a matter of their releasing their artwork and changing their minds about it, or if they intentionally made public something they knew they weren't going to use.
Actually, if memory serves, I think that two versions of Dinner At Eight were simultaneously released.
Hmm...Right now I can't think of which other ones we saw alternate versions of, but there were others, weren't there?
(Sorry to stray off-topic here.)

You're right about Dinner At Eight. It was like they were testing the audience. But I think they didn't listen to much to it, since they choose for the "ELvis With Blue Hair" verison
I think that it's weird that a label that is ONLY for the fans, has so little to do with those fans. You rarely see a poll of what to release next, what artwork design to choose, etc. Yeah, sometimes there are talks between Ernst and some fanclub presidents, but rarely with fans. The fans should be more involved in the whole process.
GIVE US A FTD WEBSITE..... NOW!!!!

I don't remember what people were saying at the time about the DA8 covers, but I do remember thinking they selected the weaker one of the two. They took out the lighting from the spotlight and made his hair blue...Why?
Yes, more fan input on all aspects of the FTD releases would be great.
