NASHVILLE, Tenn. The man who wrote Elvis Presley's "Burning Love" and "Goodbye Earl" for the Dixie Chicks has died in Nashville.
Dennis Linde (LIN'dee) died of a lung disease yesterday at age 63.
"Burning Love" was a hit for Presley in 1972. "Goodbye Earl" was a hit by the Dixie Chicks in 1999.
Linde also wrote "Callin Baton Rouge," a Garth Brooks hit in 1993, and several other country songs.
