Wooden Heart was NOT sung after Can't Help Falling In Love.

It was played in between Hound Dog and CHFIL.

To be honest, it's not worth mentioning, 'cause it's just a couple of words.

Concerning the stage, I always thought it was a stage on which Elvis was seperated from the TCB band...
With Elvis on a stage, a little higher than the stage the band was on.

Don't know if that's true though, read it somewhere...

From pics I saw on Elvis - In - Concert. com I can say my point of view.

Elvis was NOT separated by TCB but his orchestra was on right side of stage (from audience view), band was behind him and the largest part of stage was for Elvis.

But one think doesn?t fit to my point of view!

From large distance of stage noone seen anything! It is large stadium and without large screen it had to be bad for all in large distance!!! What do you think? Was Elvis one of 1st performers who used large screen on this type of show??? I really don?t know, I think that it was impossible in 1975!

    Informations about I found now:
Closest seats was 30 - 40 (cca 10 meters) ft away from stage.
My tips for stage: cca 70 meters wide; 20 - 30 meters deep. May be smaller may be larger, I don?t know!

The 3 first pictures are taken from the TUNZI / JAT book "For The First Time Ever"
The last 3 are from my own collection, the pictures are taken by George Hill.

Regarding the stage - I have footage from this show and although it has been a long time since i ran it, the film does clearly show Elvis going up a set of steps to the upper level stage on which he performed that night.

The film also shows Charlie going up and down the same steps at different times.

Great photos by the way Kenny, thanks for sharing.

WOW! Great photo. It begs to be utilized in a cover, methinks!

Those people in the very front at ground level sure had a crappy view--not a view at all, really! Or so it appears, anyway.

Please, don't get me wrong, I just love Elvis, but I've always hated it that Elvis rarely changed his setlist. Especially with concerts like this, you'd expect a different setlist. I mean, it's new year's eve and he's playing for an extremely large crowd. A real shame that he didn't rehearsed some different songs for this occasion.

During a show in early '76 Elvis mentions that he didn't know more than the 1st verse of "Auld Lang Syne" and that he was supriced that they (band, audience) kept singing after that one. So he had to sing verses that he didn't know and 'mumbled' his way through the other verses . Although it's a funny story, it's also a sad one. The fact that he didn't even rehearse that ONE 'new' song that they would do that night, say enough.

I always though that ELvis looked amazing during the May, June and July '75 tours. The contrast between those tours and the december '75 Vegas season and the New Year's Eve concert is amazing. What happened in the summer of '75 that caused this decline? And it would only decline more during '76....

And how come that this mega event is still so unknown? Has it been heavily advertised during that time? Did it get newspaper headlines that Elvis performed for this mega crowd?
