I dont give a hoot about Lisa Marie, it's her father that is important too me.I feel the same but unfortunately Lisa and Priscilla (particularly Priscilla) have convinced themselves that they are stars in their own right. Nobody would have given a **** about them if they hadn`t been connected to Elvis.
Lisa certainly wouldn`t have got a recording contract if her name wasn`t Presley and she wouldn`t have appeared on all these top name shows like Oprah, MTV Awards etc.
She`ll turn up at an awards show to give an award to some group or whatever but when her father was inducted into the hall of fame all she sent was a note to be read out, she didn`t even bother to attend.
I wish she`d do more for her fathers legacy.

i agree, i think they just use his name so they get money, that's rediculus, i mean, thats no way to preserve his memory.

Well, Lisa Marie is Elvis' only child - that would have to mean that no matter how much she may have lost her way, Elvis would still love her unconditionally. I think he's looking down from heaven, the loving father.

Of course it is still true that if things remain this way, it just won't do, ya know what I'm saying? She really needs to get her *** out of that Scientology-trouble and protect her father's legacy instead.

I have just watched a programme about Lisa Marie on the Biography channel and I have to say I couldn`t believe the amount of complaining she did. I want to like her but I can`t understand why shes always moaning, sure shes had hard times but shes also had a very good life as well but she complained no end about the tabloids etc etc but at the end of the day she brought that on herself by marrying Michael Jackson and then Nicholas Cage. She knew that would put her in the magazines etc.
In comparison to her father he never complained but got on with it.

Her father chose his career, chose to be famous. She was thrown into the spotlights the minute she was born! She never asked for that attention, but always got it. So I do understand a little about the complaining. But I also understand that people can't stand someone -who doesn't have to work a day in her life- complaining, period!

So I do understand a little about the complaining. But I also understand that people can't stand someone -who doesn't have to work a day in her life- complaining, period!Let me make a few points as to why I feel this way-

First of all it has nothing to do with her having never worked a day in her life as most people in her position wouldn`t work. it is for the following reasons-

I have visited Memphis a few times and on one of those occasions The Jordanaires were asked where is Lisa-Marie why isn`t she here and they said they (meaning her and Priscilla) don`t give a **** about the fans they`re only interested in the money. Someone else told me that he gets very angry at Lisa because she won`t turn up to meet the fans.
I have heard that she does go to memphis but only in the quieter times of the year when there are less fans there.
The most we get is a walk on appearance at Elvis The Concert and that happens once every five years big deal.
In 2001 she stood in Elvis`s bedroom watching the fans during the vigil why couldn`t she come down and meet and talk to the fans it would have meant so much to them but no.
Then she said the Elvis fans were creepy well we`re not creepy lisa we`re people that love and respect your father and we`ve made you a lot of money over the years.
She`ll go to the opening of an envelope but will she hell as go to an Elvis event.
Shes appeared on the MTV awards a number of times giving an award to U2 or Pink but when Elvis was inducted into The Hall Of Fame she sent a note to be read out.
When Elvis was inducted into the UK Hall Of Fame not long ago she sent Priscilla to accept the award.
It was quite a big event here in England and people couldn`t understand why his daughter didn`t turn up but instead his ex-wife accepted it and made a speech when in my opinion she didn`t have the right to be there.
She married Michael Jackson which propelled her into the limelight and then went on to marry Nicholas Cage and unbelievably that marriage didn`t last as long as Jackson.
Then she embarked on a singing career releasing Lights Out as the first single describing the burial site of her father as The **** Back Lawn.
She set out promoting her album but got offensive when she was questioned about Michael Jackson.
What did she expect?
She is a nightmare to interview acting like she doesn`t want to be there, anybody would think she was being made to do them.
I can`t help but think of her father and how polite he was in interviews and even though he went through a lot at times he was never rude to the media.
Because of her name shes appeared on every talk show going Jay Leno, Oprah, Howard Stern, David Letterman etc but complained that she hadn`t had the preparation of singing live in front of a small audience before she appeared on national TV. Well she certainly had the time after all she was now in her mid thirties.
I like Lights Out and Dirty Laundry but unfortunately I can`t make out half of what she is singing on the other records.
She also can`t sing live and as any entertainer knows that is the most important facet of the music business.
She did interviews being a little outspoken for her own good, yes we all like a bit of honesty but did we really need to know that she liked sex like they do it in the porn movies.
Did she have to talk about how she gave head at aged 13, had sex at 15, had lesbian sex at 16 and was also drugging it.
Somethings are best kept to yourself especially when your father is Elvis Presley and you want to respect the name.
Her attitude isn`t the best and her language is disgusting and yes I know that Elvis did swear but he never did it in interviews like she does.
She has done a couple of good things for instance opening Presley Place was a wonderful thing and she has avoided talking about her father when I know she could have made a fortune writing a book etc but unlike her mother she doesn`t want to milk it and I admire that but unfortunately the bad outweigh the good.

Aly:merryxmasPriscilla Beaulieu is absolutely pathetic.
I have just watched Elvis The Great Performances on the biography channel and there she is walking around Graceland as if it is still her home.
She was asked to do the programme she says, what bollocks.
As she was walking through the living room I couldn`t believe that she had added another photograph of her and Elvis on their wedding day onto a sideboard. You will also notice on Elvis By The Presleys that to the right of her at the beginning there are various photographs of her and Elvis framed.
As if Elvis kept these on display after she left.
She is so obsessed with being seen as the widow and she can`t bear another woman to be mentioned in connection to Elvis if it isn`t her.
It was very conveniant in The Great Performances how when she said their marriage had ended that it cut to Elvis singing Always On My Mind featuring guess what clips of her and Elvis.
She likes to think that song is for her when Elvis never expressed that sentiment.
I have to say Ayda that when she went to the closet and looked at the dog leads I could have swung for her.
Then when she mentioned how Elvis asked her for advice on decorating the plane because she was good with colours etc I though yeah thats right pretend that you were still with him.
She has rewritten Elvis history and she has the power to do it. She can make programmes about him and edit them anyway she likes as we have seen with Elvis By The Presleys. You can always tell when she has had a hand in them when they are critical of Elvis and when they don`t contain any of his other girlfriends.
She didn`t want Elvis but she didn`t want any other woman to have him either.
I have been critical of Lisa but only because she should of been the one hosting The Great Performances not her mother. She should be walking through Graceland like its her home because after all it is and thats what Elvis wanted and not his ex-wife.

I would not want Lisa to do any cover versions of Elvis' songs.
I have had Elvis by the Presleys on dvd since it came out and I
still have not watched it.I can't bring myself around to watching
it.Probably because Priscilla is on there.I'll have to watch it with
the sound off.:hmm: I don't know when she's telling the truth half time. One minute she says one thing then the next minute she changes her story and says something else.:merryxmas

I think if Elvis had lived she would maybe not have the "Chip on her Shoulder" (thats how I have always seen her.) I should not speculate but I bet she saw her father on 8-16-77. Its not an excuse but if she did it would probably mess your head up in a million ways. She fought her mother for years and just does crazy things. I think she could use a good therapist (as most of us probably could)
As for talent her singing is not bad on CD, but she has a lot of trouble with live performances. She seems to kinda be fighting the music instead of being up front.
Her writing does have some merit and I was surprised at it. Elvis was not a writer and only made a few attempts at it.

Just a thought that popped into my ..I think its great you all love Elvis on this forum!!

.. but there seems that there is a small percentage of you here who seem too like giving Lisa Marie a bad name and criticize everything she does..

And if Elvis where here to read such comments would he want them as part of his fanbase......:hmm:

I don't think soo!!!!! even if you don't like her music ..I understand it is very important that people put across their point of view.. but that does not justify why the are being so **** cruel with their words...

Thought Elvis fans were not of the nature....obviously I was mislead ..

P.s...Lisa is the bomb! and i'd buy her album no matter who her family are.We all have an opinion darlin and it is great that we can all voice it on this forum.
As for you saying that you don`t think that Elvis would want people who are critical of Lisa as his fanbase I can tell you that I have been an Elvis fan since I was 13 and I love the man dearly and will always defend him but I am entitled to have an opinion on Lisa whether she is his daughter or not and it doesn`t affect the love that I have for Elvis.
Whether or not you like her music is your choice but a lot of people like myself don`t think she is a good singer particularly live and there is nothing wrong with admitting that.
I don`t know whether you were referring to me with your comments but if you are I haven`t critized everything she does and I haven`t given her a bad name, shes done that herself.
When she does more for the memory of her father and treats the fans with respect like her father did (instead of calling us creepy) then I will be more appreciative but until then I`ll continue voicing my opinion when needed.

my opinion of you I think you take things a little too seriously......

....and maybe are perhaps a little jealous of lisa..

anyway... I have had my say...

have a nice dayI think its you that is taking things seriously.

Defending Elvis has nothing to do with defending his daughter. She can take care of herself but Elvis isn`t here to do that.

You sound like one of Lisas fans off her message board who slags off the Elvis fans if they say anything about her. Your not from there are you?

Give me a list of all the things about Lisa that I should be jealous of (and don`t forget being married to wacko jacko).

You`re 21 years old come back when you`ve lived a bit and you know what you`re talking about.

Oh by the way when you talk about making unpleasant comments does that also apply to lisa who called us all creepy.

Like Joanne I too am a huge Elvis Fan and I think this is one of the best sites to visit and learn about how people feel and felt about Elvis. I am still learning things that I do not know. (Believe it or not... when I was younger.. I thought I knew all about Elvis!!)

I turly do not think anybody who visits this site is Jealous of Lisa Marie, while I relize that the younger generation has a much different view of music and people than the older generation. Elvis was a "one of the kind person" and yes Lisa Marie is his daughter. (As far as she goes that is really all I can say about her... in respect for Elvis.. I just prefer to leave it there.)

Joanne has a real passion for Elvis as many of us do and always will have but please do not fight with her about things that she or none of us have any control over ~~~ Like Lisa Marie~~~ she is her own person and will make her own way in life and if she makes it to the top~~ so be it~~~ 30 years from now~~~ will she have the fans that her dad has~~~ God only knows I am sure that I do not.

You seem like a nice person and I have a daughter that would agree with the difference in music of yesterday and today but I would never fight (and she would not fight with me) over it.

History will tell the answer to this one is all I am trying to say to you. Enjoy this wonderful site that someone has put together for us all and I do respect your thoughts too but will not fight over them

Take care and keep the faith!! Dovey

There are so many wonderful people on this sight and I honestly enjoy talking to them. They have many talents, artwork, good ideas, good people who are willing to help with anything that you may ask them for , I have meet some truly wonderful people here and every one is here because it is a Elvis Fan Club..

Scottishthistle- I hope you do not feel picked on, I'm sure no one means to hurt anyones feelings here. People have strong opinions and that means passion and emotion-those are good things. Elvis I'm sure would want no one picking or repremanding his daughter(but himself I'll bet) But we all have are own feelings on each subject posted, and they are not always going to be the same. I'm happy to see so many 21 year old Elvis fans at this site. I'm gonna be 51 in a few months and like the new fans getting into Elvis.

Scottishthistle-

Sorry maybe I did misunderstand the meaning of what you were trying to say to me. I surely do not want to fight with anybody.

I guess when I though about what you had said I had to laugh to myself because it was not my generation that thought Elvis was "evil" but I do remember remarks like that from perhaps my parents. Life is truly funny sometimes I guess. (I even have to laugh at them today for the way they went on about Elvis. ha ha wow.. sure was a generation gap there)

Like the person above said, we are all here because we are Elvis Fans or we would not be here It does make me so happy to see young people interested in Elvis. I have talked to girls 13 from Germany and they love Elvis also. A 15 year old girl from Austria told me she would not marry a guy unless he loved Elvis as much as she did. It sure is wonderful to know that he will be remember for a long time and I hope that all the young people listen to his songs and love him because as I stated before he sure was "One of a Kind"

Thank you for your kind words and I am happy this has ended for us in a good way.

Take care and thanks... Dovey

and Joanne to correct you i was an Elvis fan long before i liked lisa's music.. and quite frankly you are starting too sound like the people who criticized Elvis when he first cam on the music seen what did they call it "the devils music"?

I have been an Elvis fan for all 21 years of my life..
... BUT ...Elvis is my God!! :king:
Lisa is just a singer too me I like her style< perhaps your age means that you not "with it" as todays music goes but thats cool...age is what makes us more intelligent & knowledgeable

;)

so joanne never mind saying

because that is an absolute joke! and quite frankly hurtful!

:king: "if your looking for trouble, you came too the right place"

ps joanne ..dont be sending me anymore nasty emails please ...its very childish!

Anyway before i get a headache please remember this is an Elvis forum...we are all happy , lovely, intelligent people ;) ...lets not fight!!!I haven`t sent you any e-mails so I don`t know why you are lying DO NOT ACCUSE ME OF SENDING NASTY E-MAILS.
You are the one who came on here shouting the odds.
By the way there are a lot of Elvis fans who feel similar sentiments to mine about Lisa Marie for instance Todd Slaughter who runs the british fan club.
Even The Jordanaires have told me what they think of her and it wasn`t good.
So are you saying that they don`t love Elvis?
I`m only 32 so I`m not exactly old but its just that I like a singer to sing in tune.
You must be young to think that 32 is old.
I didn`t know that at 32 you can`t be with it.
Thanks Dovey I know you feel the same way as me.
kpm no disrespect to you sir but when you say that Elvis wouldn`t of liked his fans picking on Lisa well I am also sure that he wouldn`t want her disrespecting his fans either.
Let me guess scottishthistle you love Priscilla as well oh bless...

Hi there everyone involved in this discussion.

I've read through it and I feel it would be wise for everyone to leave it at this, okay?

The bottom line in this discussion is that we ARE entitled to our own personal opinions. Not just concerning Lisa or Elvis, but concerning everything we feel like discussing here, right?

So, please don't get personal towards each other over a subject like this.

It's not worth it.

If anyone might have serious problems please PM me, or one of the other moderators and we will try and solve those problems.
It's of no use whatsoever to keep on "throwing" new messages at each other at this point.

Just enjoy the site and please, enjoy and respect each others opinions on all subjects.

I've gone back and read some of these posts. It has been posted that Lisa Marie called her dads fans creep - but I think only part of what Lisa said was posted. She was talking about the fans that dress up in jumpsuits, sunglasses and come to her shows and stand in front of her while she's singing. Sorry folks, but I too find that creepy too. Can you imagine if you were trying to start a singing career and someone kept dressing up like your deceased mother and standing in front of the stage while you tried to sing? I would not enjoy that and I don't think she did either.

Diane
03-15-2008, 04:01 PM
I'm of the older generation also and been a fan since I was 11. It is true that Lisa would probably not be a singer and in the limelight if Elvis had not been her father and she's never denied that. She is the one who has to live with all the good and bad that this brought to her and I think she does the best she can under the circumstances. Fans do tend to forget that he was HER father and that he belongs to her more than he does the fans.

Diane
