Its interesting on the site it says the first live version of Burning Love will be included. Wasnt this in Greensboro and not included in the 72 release? Does this suggest outtakes will be included? Also, anyone know how many songs were in the original release? was it 25, like the site says will be on the new release?

They are really giving nothing away.

My guess is they included the "Burning Love" highlight as a way to avoid the point that there will be nothing new included on the set!!

Yes, if HEARTBREAK HOTEL and ARE YOU LONESOME TONIGHT are included, then there must be the LOST PERFORMANCES footage from EOT on here as well. :hmm:

Definitely will be interesting to see and hear what this newly remastered DVD is like...but I'm with Sonny, I'll start jumping when I see it... ;)

They are going to show unreleased footage at the showing in Memphis but it's not included in the set!? Do you think that this unreleased footage will eventually be included in a DVD set of On Tour footage? Being able to see all of Suspicious Minds for the very first time will be awesome and hopefully the Burning Love is the Greensboro version but either way it'll be great to get this in the quality that we are going to get this in!!!!!!!!!!

I saw that too nolvis!!!

They're doing the same thing with EOT that they did with TTWII. When I was in Memphis for EW 2000 and they had the premiere of TTWII - SE, they showed the clip of ARE YOU LONESOME TONIGHT at the end of the film then mysteriously they couldn't get the copyright to it when the DVD came out. Plus at the TTWII - SE premiere, they promised that there would be bonus footage on the DVD when it was released, which of course, there wasn't. (n)

Now this time they are claiming to be showing unreleased footage at the EOT premiere but it won't be on the DVD. So just as we suspected, they'll release the basic EOT DVD for now and then in a couple of years (2012 for the 40th anniversary probably) they will release a DVD of EOT with bonus footage! Why not just do it right the first time???

I already own an excellent copy of 'On Tour' on DVD so will not be buying this. If I had a blu-Ray player then I would buy it.
I have never liked the letterbox format and hope that one day they will remake the movie with all the additional footage included in full screen.

I read on another site where the version of "Suspicious Minds" will not be the complete version but only the version we already have from the original film. And, yes, the debut performance of "Burning Love" occurred in Greensboro, NC on April 14, 1972 so maybe we'll get both the April 14, 1972 and April 18, 1972 version (I like the latter version much better, to be honest, because the band finally gets the ending 'correct' - Elvis mentions the 'ending goof up in the "Through My Eyes" DVD).

like many of you i will wait and see and hope that the rumour that there will be a boot of some of the buffallo footage [pro] will be seing a dvd release in the comming months , i wonder if any of the buffallo show will be on the official release?

Er, yeah there was ...

Sorry...I should have clarified...when the ORIGINAL DVD was released, there was no bonus footage included on it. At the premiere in Memphis during EW2000, Todd Morgan stated to the audience that the DVD would contain about an hour worth of bonus footage. But when the original DVD came out, there was NO bonus footage included. It wasn't until the 2-disc set came out that the bonus footage finally saw the light of day.

Sorry for the confusion...my mistake... ;)

I'm just happy that Elvis On Tour is finally getting released not just on dvd, but Blu Ray aswell. As long as fans have been begging for this I am surprised at the negative responses that I've seen so far.

I bought one specially for the ON TOUR release, plus I've been enjoying many great Blu-ray titles – HOW THE WEST WAS WON, VIVA LAS VEGAS & JAILHOUSE ROCK – and a 1966 western called THE PROFESSIONALS with Lee Marvin and Burt Lancaster, all are superb. The HTWWW is a book also by WB and that's quality, so ELVIS ON TOUR should be a cracker too!

Sonny

I expect all of them to be on bluray friends. It's a new money maker isn't it?

Some of us, or most of us, will buy On Tour both on dvd and bluray, maybe even when we do not even have a bluray player at this moment.

In time it will become a reason to purchase a bluray, it seems to be the future at this moment.
