Died three weeks ago. She had kidney failure. She had been living in a nursing home in Memphis for about 9 months. Last time I talked to her she was in good spirits but in and out of being lucid. (she was the one married to Gladys brother Johnny)

She was 83 I believe. Thanks. She was the last of the Ivy's to go. Lorraine, Billy's mom died a few years after Elvis did.

Strange to think Elvis had an aunt that was only 8 years older than him

Good heavens!
Is there anybody left who hasn't written a book about Elvis?

Yes, she wrote the book but the guy who got her to write it never paid her but a very tiny amount. And she didn't have the money to find out why. It wasn't a big seller though. Perhaps the money went to publishers? I asked her why she never got much money and she didn't know. She was sweet but very quirky.

Hi Laurie:) The book was a self-published book and the fee has to be paid up front to the publisher. Plus, the writer has other related expenses. Unless Lois put up the money for this, I would say the writer was trying to recoup part of his expenses. For these type of books, it does take a lot of sales to get into the black and start making a profit.

It's a shame the sales weren't better.

Thanks for the info. Yes, she sure could have used the income. She always had a very, very hard life.
