This might be a silly question but I've always been interested in that. What did he use and what was his styling technique? I've heard something about Royal Crown cream, anything else? :hmm:

Elvis had the best head of hair,and i heard that he used breel cream or pomade. His pompadour started a trend too in the 50's. I tried to comb my hair like him but i end up looking like squiggy on Laverne & Shirley..LOL

well my uncle does his hair the exact same way everyday it takes him hours two mirrors half a can of haipray and alot of gel half the tub just to get it to stay in that shape and style he is 40 and its 2008 but he thinks hes 21 in the 50's so probably elvis went through the exact same thing with the time and products

someone once told me he used a brand called black an white in the 50's butr i dont think they make it any more! brylcreem or grooming cream is ur best bet with spray gel! dont use too much brylcreem though cos ur hair goes really greasy! this tells you how to get the cut, but not the style! http://www.thehairstyler.com/celebrity_hairstyle.asp?name=Elvis+Presley

I've only heard about the brylcreem; but wouldn't surprise me if he used other products as well.

Even though it's off topic I asked Marty Lacker what hair products Elvis used for the '68 Comeback Special and he said hair spray and Alberto VO5 hair care products, so the next time I order things from Amazon I'll be sure to add a few Alberto VO5 products in my cart

Yes, Alberto VO5 creme, is what I used back in the 50's. You only used a little bit otherwise it would be to greasy.:lol: You also had to have a good haircut, if you are getting that now, you still need someone who can cut your hair into duck tails.

My older brother used a product called Tuxedo paste. It was to the 50's what LA Looks Gel is to the kids now

I haven't thought of Squiggy in a long time!:lol::lol::lol:
Those characters were not developed for the series- heres the story: they were first created on the satirical radio show "The Credibility Gap" It was with The Gap that David and Michael McKean first performed Lenny and Squiggy before a live audience. One of the people in the audience was Penny Marshall, who had just sold a new show to ABC-TV titled Laverne and Shirley. She convinced Michael and David to perform at one of her parties, where her brother, Garry Marshall, saw their act and asked them to try the characters out on the show.
Sady Squiggy, David Lander, was diagnosed with MS in 1984. It has limited his acting career as it worsens.

We sure enjoyed that show a lot while it was on the air! I'm sad to hear that David Lander came down with MS. I didn't know that.
