Sorry if this as been discussed before but I was wondering if you had the chance to travel back in time what show would you chose to attend & why?? Only pick one:)

Myself I would chose Nasseau July 19th,1975, I think he was at his greatest!! He looked great & sounded great & in high spirits!

I think there are two I would have REALLY REALLY liked to have seen ...the opening Vegas show August 1969.:king:

Elvis closing show in Las Vegas on 3rd September 1973 when Elvis came onto the stage riding on Lamar. :king:

Since I can pick only one I think it would be the latter.:D

The Aloha From Hawaii concert on January 14, 1973 - without any doubt, because of two reasons, the first and foremost is the one that I love that show and the second is because of it's significance

If i could go back in time and see any concert? It would have to be August 6, 1956,when Elvis was at the Polk theatre in Lakeland Florida. He did three shows that day.Even my mother had a ticket to see him,but she said it was so hot that day that she couldn't wait in line forever. And she never saved her unused ticked stub. How crazy is that?

I would say a Vegas show, any Vegas show would have been a dream to me.

Any show that I could get a ticket. I tried to see him in Monroe, LA, but could not go stand/sit in line for a day and a night until tickets went on sale. The tickets went to people who were in line first. You could buy as many as you had money for. He did come back with a second show but I couldn't get a ticket for that either.

Comeback show. It seemed very intimate and I would beg for a front seat.

July 31st, 1969 Las Vegas. Or any other show from that engagement.

As second choice, any show from August 1970.

No other show/s after that would come close.

Me too Gail! (y) I would love to do 08/06/1973 all over again, and this time I would know ahead of time that I was going to get a kiss and a scarf. That way I could relax, enjoy the show and not have to spend every second there thinking "please come here Elvis."

For Me It's Have to been Shows From TTWII and few shows after that, and early shows from Jan/feb 70, been second choices, and third choice it's have to been jan/feb 71 shows, plus All opening and closing Shows from Las Vegas 1969 to 1976
They are special shows.

31st July 1969 that show must've been electrifying. But I would also have loved to have seen him in the '50s.

To see him sing Hound Dog with his Gold Lame suit must've been a sight you would never forget.

To have been there for all the August 70 shows would have been just SUPERB(y), but if I would have to chose just one show, it must be the august 10.....would love to have seen when he layed down on his back during the ending of "Patch it up" that night..cool
But really, I would love to have been at all his shows.....54-77

Hmmm.... that's a tough one..... I really love those May-June-July 1975 shows where he was so upbeat.... But those Memphis 1974 shows were stunning also, performing for his hometown...

But those Vegas engagements were also quite something else.... hmmm.... but now I also not sure about attending a 1955-1956 show....

Some great choices gang! I'm going to be different, and say any one of the 3 conerts from 1961. An unbelievable band, and an Elvis from all accounts, in brilliant form, who hadn't performed live in 4 years, so you know he was pumped!

Vegas show in August 1970, sitting in the front row! :)

I was there in August of 70 sitting next to the stage. :king: Awesome choice!(y) Elvis was more than GORGEOUS!!! "Oh what a THRILL it was it REALLY WAS such a thrill"!!! :D (Even if I was so poor I had to sleep on the floor at my Aunts house in Henderson to be able to afford to tip Emilio.) :lol:IMO I would pick the Vegas shows over any tour show. It was up close and so much more personal...and the sound was just so much closer to perfection than the tour shows...at least the few tour shows I saw.

May 11th 1974,the show availabLe as the FTD release LIVE IN L.A led Zeppelin were in the audience and witnessed a fantastic show.Robert Plant when asked on the Johnathan Ross Radio show a few years ago,'who was the best he ever saw live,' he replied, "Elvis" without any hesitation.

The show was also the best Elvis's step brother [David E,Stanley] had ever seen Elvis perform. However, the soundboard from this concert doesn't do the show justice, because you had to be there to marvel at the King's karate moves and kicks on "Polk Salad Annie," "Suspicious Minds," plus - his voice was on top form especially on the blues juggernaut, "Steamroller Blues" which is a fantastic, rocking version and my favourite version of the song.Elvis also name-checks the Zep boy's which must have sounded incredibly to the band at the time.

Finally, the pics from the FTD book show that Elvis was on top form and also looking very healthy and in shape and it's the visual experience here, that's the real key - to actually have been at this show would have been awesome; like Aloha x ten! That's why it's my choice!

To me, his 70's shows were nothing compared to his 50's and 61 shows where he'd swivle, wriggle, hip-thrust, drop to his knees, slide on his knees, dance on his toes. Anyone got Tupelo's own? He moved more in those 12 minutes of footage than he did throughout the Aloha Haiwai show. In most of his 70's shows he just swung his arms and did karate moves(now i'm going to crucified). So I'd go back to 61 in Haiwai to see the king give a truly dynamic and energetic performance.

Yeh...you are kind of asking for it, aren't you Gary? How long has it been since you have watched "TTWII"? You might want to give that one another look see...;) I don't know your age, but.........most men 35 to 40 don't move as well as they did at age 21 or 22. Case in point..take a look at the NFL rosters.;);)

Only one choice? Can I be two people? Okay, just one.
A 55 show, one of the Louisiana Hayride shows, probably Lubbock - June 3. In those days, Elvis used to hang out with the kids (being just a kid himself!) at different drug store soda fountains or the hamburger stands. I'd have loved to have attended one of the shows, then followed his cadillac to the hamburger stand & just hang around & talk to him! Get him to sign my ticket, program, purse, any & everything!
Why Lubbock? Well, I probably could have seen Buddy Holly, too!

My first choice would be to have been present for the first sit-down show of the '68 Comeback Special. He sung with a fire and passion never before seen and I cannot get past the rawness and vulnerability that was so apparent during this one-hour show.

If I had to pick a 'concert', hands down, I would choose opening night, 1969. As much as I've read about this incredible night, I doubt words can fully describe the electricity and passion that was generated from the stage as Elvis strode out into the spotlight to make history and bring down the curtain!!!!
