I know that EPE wont open graceland upstairs due to Elvis privacy being maintaned, and that it would not be viable, with the installation of lifts, fire exits e.t.c. however, why not add the upstairs to their onlien virtual tour! this way, no fan would ever go up there, however the desire of fans would to see upstairs would be satisfiedand it wouldnt be a huge blow to elvis's privacy. after all they let a film crew up there in 1981 to film this is elvis and let an elvis impersonator who thinks elvis isnt dead lye in his bed and on the bathroom floor where he died! they cant call it a mistake cos thay have re released it this year with even more footage! what do you think? do you agree?

I really don't see what the fascination is about the upstairs of Graceland. At the end of the day most of the stuff that was up there has been removed and put in the archives.

My understanding upstairs besides lisa's room is pretty much empty, its not like it was when elvis was alive, alot of stuff have been moved and put somewhere else.

Truthfully, I have no desire to see the upstairs at Graceland.
I've been to Graceland several times since 1977.
Personally, I don't want to go back.
I do hope every Elvis fan goes at least once though.

Jordan who lives in memphis. you know him too.

This is from EIN

How to get access to Elvis' bedroom at Graceland

Access to EP's bedroom is very high security. The only two people that have unlimited access is Pricilla, and Lisa. NO ONE ELSE.

Jack Soden, Angie Marchese (Archives Manager), the two that you would think have access, have to get permission, in writing, from either Lisa or Priscilla.

Here are the procedures to getting in EP's bedroom, as laid out to me by Angie:

1. Written memo to Jack Soden as to the reason for needing access with an approximate time needed in the room.

2. Memo is approved by Soden, and forwarded to either Priscilla's, or Lisa's reps.

3. Approved or disapproved by either, and sent back to Soden.

4. If approved Soden will retrieve the keys from Graceland Vault area. The door has two combos. One Soden has, and the other is the head of Graceland security (not affiliated with their uniformed guards.)

5. The persons, or persons approved to enter the bedroom are checked for cameras, and have listed on a memo pad, what they are bringing up, or from the room. If photos of an item in the room are made, then each photo is accounted for, and stored by Soden while the process is on.

6. Soden, or one of his security will escort the rep, usually Angie Marchese to the upstairs area and open the two locked doors.

7. The time Angie is in the room is timed, and documented.

As you can see getting access to the upstairs is, as Angie stated "an act of Congress." The upstairs carpet, and such is still the same, but most of the items (clothing, jewellery, perishables) have been removed inventoried, and stored.

Lisa does not stay in the room, her room is still there, but of course more update to her likings. She and Nicolas did not stay in the house, however there was a huge party there in Feb 2001. I saw the limos personally, and heard all the loud music, the scene was unreal! Lisa, and her mom can do what they please up there, and often do, and yes Lisa has had many visitors in her dad’s room.

imho, the people who are so desperate to see the upstairs of graceland, would like to do so, just because they want to see where elvis died, this is just natural curiousity for some people, its not for me though. leave the upstairs closed(y)

but i think its just a matter of time before it is opened up(n)

The bathroom is the least of what I'd want to see upstairs. Personally, I'd kill for a proper look inside Elvis' bedroom before anything else.

Open everything from upstairs via a virtual tour, or video cameras only.

Maybe ppl want to see the upstairs because that is the only part of the home ( and the kitchen) that hasn't been touched i would love to see the upstairs NOT because he died just because its a part of the home and it would be neat.... The virtual tour is a great idea or photos

I think there's nothing much interesting to see there. Most of the stuff is problably stored somewere else. What's the point of keeping an entire upperfloor intact for so many years. Imagine the work and kosts kleening-service alone would have to keep the stuff in a good condition. Off course propper pictures or a virtual tour with completely decorated rooms would be great and possible. It would satisfy a lot of fans and I'm sure most fans would be willing to pay for it so it's interesting for EPE.
