WHO ... ??! ;)

They have an impersonator - and they created a scene at the beginning with Joe E., Jerry Schilling and George Klein at Graceland to pick up "Elvis" to go to the Fed Ex Colliseum for the concert - they don't show his face - just the body and him talking......it's pretty neat. This is at the very beginning of the 30th anniversary concert this past August.

oh...in a helicopter that lands in the backyard of Graceland to fly them out.

Yeah, I know.

I was being sarcastic, as the poster had written "Elvis" in a helicopter. And it wasn't Elvis: it was an impersonator, as you say.

And one of the dumbest things they ever did.

But we're :offtopic: I'm afraid ...

I disagree - thought it was good.....but you don't like impersonators - and I like the decent ones.

No, it wasn't because they used an impersonator (okay, it was partly that) but the fact that they used this filmed sequence to give the impression that "Elvis" left Graceland, got into the chopper, and flew to downtown Memphis for the show.

The fact that it was at the 30th anniversary concert (ie the anniversary of his DEATH, Lord love a duck!) made it all the more bizarre.

Same with the "Elvis" riding up to the stage in a limousine for the 25th anniversary show ... just silly. Why even pretend that "Elvis" is still here riding around in limos and choppers ... Elvis is still here through his music and faithful fans. That should be enough. No cheap theatrics are necessary

In other words, if it wasn't done by Elvis in his original and wonderful stage shows, then don't do it for the 21st century versions!

/ rant off (with apologies for going :offtopic:)

Man, I'm bewildered and joyful that nearly everyone here hasn't bought something unrelated to the music or the man - i.e. books and cd's (also vinyls) are in my good books.

My latest addition to the collection was "Silver Screen Stereo" - and about time for me ;)
