Do you think we need FTD to re-release the Madison Square Garden shows Elvis did in '72 on the FTD Label?

Would you like to see this happen, and do you think it will eventually. I know if it did happen that I would most certainly purchase them!

Yes, disc 1 with the afternoon show ... with a better remix than the Afternoon At the Garden CD. The mix sucked on that.

Disc 2 .. the evening show, with a good remix ... and the songs in the correct running order this time! As Recorded At Madison Square Garden was a great album, but very deceptive with it's editing and contents.

I'd buy an FTD release of the MSG shows.

I don't know the whole show, but judging by the part I've heard, it definitly deserves such a treatment :D

As has been discussed on another thread, there is no soundboard of the final show.

So the best we could hope for is an FTD similar to Pittsburgh, which was only slightly better sound than the original vinyl double-album release.

Getlo is correct. The only chance we have of seeing the Indy show released by FTD will be a good sounding audience recording. Sadly, no soundboard. But I thought FTD did an excellent job with the 12/31/76 show so I have good trust that they can do the same with the indy show.

The MSG shows deserve to be released mainstream and with DSD treatment like the recent VIVA LAS VEGAS 2-CD [1969 SHOW]

There's talk of a 30-CD BOX SET this would definitely feature those two classic's and remastered in DSD - YES PLEASE!

The FTD releases are fantastic -- but all should have been released in the best possible sound available and that's DSD.

Until FTD gets around to the MSG show the Japenese paper sleeve is your best bet.I purchased a copy and the sound is incredible. It blows the original RCA issue away.

FTD won't be releasing the MSG shows because they are still part of the main stream cds that is out now. Since you can purchase them now in stores they won't be release on FTD. Sorry to spoil the party folks but it is true. FTD only puts out cds that isn't part of the main stream cds.

I believe only the June 10th shows were recorded officially (?), but I don't have my reference books to hand ...

I have all of the MSG shows but they are audience recordings on cdr's. Some with good sound, some not so much but still nice to have if your a collector.

Yes; I just checked my usual sources. The June 9th and 11th shows were not recorded.

Which is a pity, as they're both pretty good shows.

This is long overdue. This is his best post '69 live recording. The band was hot, Elvis was rocking and the crowd was going crazy.

Oh, Hell yes! Those shows deserve a deluxe release by either FTD or BMG one.... classic history-making concerts that people still talk about all these many years later.
