No, Elvis never recorded this Johnny Cash classic, but he did sing it live in August of 1970 Vegas.

You musta heard the boot version, which I have, but in very poor quality.

Of note: Elvis did an awesome version of "Ghost Riders In The Sky" in rehearsal, found on the FTD cd/book, That's The Way It Was, from July, 1970 !

Elvis sang Walk The Line in Vegas:

September 4, 1970 DS: excerpt only
September 4, 1970 MS: one line only (after one line of La Bamba)
September 5, 1970 MS: two lines only
September 6, 1970 DS: one line
September 8, 1970 CS: one line

The one featured is here is from September 4, 1970 DS. It's been around as a bootleg recording for over 30 years.
