Elvis used several belt buckles with this suit. In 1974 he used the original belt and buckle. During the summer of 1976 he started to wear this belt and buckle on the "White Egyptian Bird" until the gold Indian head fell off.
When he started to wear the "Egytian" again in the fall of 1976 he used the original belt with the buckle of the "Chinese Dragon". He also used the buckle of the "Chief".

A great suit, although is it fair to say that this suit is perhaps similar in some ways to the "Today" jumpsuit. Either way I love this suit and saw Elvis in it '74!! Really flashy.

Is this suit also known as the "Gypsy Alpine Suit"?

Leroy

No Matt. We're talking about a copletely different suit here. If you click on the link below you will get to the "Dark Blue Gypsy".

Great! Thanks for the link Leroy! I never knew the gypsy suit was also known as the Gypsy Alpine suit. I thought they were two different suits, hehe. Thanks again for clearing that up for me ;)

Matt you are right its the details on these suits that make them so beautiful.

Just see them in person and that will prove that theory true.

I hated it that the lighting was so bad on the exhibit All access.
Very annoying. Bright spotlights at the top. They should have used tl lights over a longer vertical stretch. Many advantages. TL is more power efficient then halogen spots. A bigger lamp will produce less pronounced shadows.

Plus they should have put a mirror behind some suits so you could see the cape (like they've done in the Memphis Mud museum).
