The "second" belt he started using in 1976 was originally designed for the "White Two-piece with Blue Ornaments"from 1975.

Isn't this the jumpsuit he wore at that concert where his voice was so slurred and there were lots of problems? I read somewhere that some even wanted a refund and possibly he was asked not to come back. I might have my facts screwed up here. Am I even close?

You are probably referring to the infamous College Park concerts in September 1974. If this is the case then the answer is yes. This was one of the suits. He did two shows. On September 27th he wore the "Peacock" and on September 28th the above described suit which original name was the "Blue Swirl".

a great suit and one that looked fantastic on him and shined, even though it looked simple it wasn't , it really looked great.

Sabbath I think the one from 1974 you posted is the 20th of Augst? because first 2 shows he wore the jumpsuits then he started wearing the tan 2 pieces suits. I think not 100% sure. I know he wore the Peacock first night then Rainbow, and I think even the Light Blue Pheniox if you look at the one with snake on the leg...Looks like Vegas.

this is a great suit not filled with jewels but still catchy and unique

I gave this an 8 out of 10. I like it, but what makes it special to me is that it is the suit he wore when I saw him in Vegas in December 1976. That's not something I remembered, but since the internet was born, I figured it out that way.

Thanks for the pictures on these jumpsuit threads. I'm loving looking at these suits Elvis wore!

Some shots from College Park September 28th 1974...(y)

And the reason for the bandage on his wrist. that was indeed there because elvis got an infection in his had when doing karate apprarently hit someone in the mouth with their teeth and it got his hand infected and in some pictures you can tell his hand was swollen...

I Like This Jumpsuit I Think The Design Had A Very Sliming Effect And Made Him Look Good . Compare It With Other Jumsuits He was wearing At The Time And You See It Made Him Look Much slimmer ie The Dragon Suit Or The Memphis Suit

I've always thought this was a pretty cool suit.

Bill Belew (who was NOT the designer of this suit) nicknamed this one the "Turnpike Suit". Here are a few detail pictures.

The 3 pictures Leroy listed are not of the real suit. Shown is a B&K copy. Just so people know.

03-10-2010, 07:20 PM
another closeup

Brad's picture IS of the real suit. Notice the hand prick sticthed lapels that house the "boning" of the suit. A real tell-tale of fine tailoring. Also, notice the kick pleat on the other picture. No visible stitching. The kick pleat facings were all one piece, folded in.

A Great Looking Suit.
He Looks Better In It, In 1974.

This suit was also worn ( missing date) in Providence RI on June 22 1974 at the 8:30 evening show. i know this because I have a dvd with footage of the show from behind the stage and Elvis wore the suit ,but the guy labeled it from phily penn. probably because the Providence civic center ( now the dunkin donuts center ) had a huge P as its logo.
