The 68 Special was the saving grace Elvis needed to separate
himself
from the Elvis of the Movie years. The Movie era came
in several categories with the initial foray giving Elvis a
more considered role, the mid section saw Elvis travelogues
with throw away songs and finally the latter era trying to
capture a more mature Elvis with better scripts... alas by the
late 60's Elvis' Movie career has lost it's lustre.
The 68 Comeback was a meant to be a Christmas show
