Hi guys

I have a question about the concert that Elvis gave on 2 june 1977.
On this he concert he did for the last time An American Trilogy.
I really want to hear sing Elvis this in 1977 so is it a good version or just a one liner??

Bye
Dave

On June 2, 1977 in Mobile, Alabama was the last time he performed The American Trilogy. Jordan's Elvis World has it up to listen to. Here is the link to the song. Enjoy.

I remember him coming in way too soon during that instrumental. I don't think his timing was that far off. It almost sounded like he had just decided to sing that 'Glory, Glory' part there just as kind of a background thing, but maybe the stage monitors needed to be turned up or something and he just couldn't hear the music that well. He did, after all, apologize and explain, "I wasn't listening."

Regardless of the reason, it was pretty anticlimatic to stop that song at that stage. But he did nail the ending. An edit of the song omitting the goof would make for a nice listen.

I wouldn't necessarily call it a bad version...you have to remember that this is 1977 and it had been almost 2 years since Elvis sung the song, (Except for Lake Tahoe '76). It is really nice that we have it on cd though, knowing that this was the last time he would perform this beautiful song !
