Software to make artwork

I was just wondring what software you use to make thos fantastic alternate artwork? :notworthy

I got a real simple program, i don't really think it is any good... at least i can't get anywhere with it. Seems to me that it got to few functoins, or maybe i'm just stupid :doh:

I agree totally Ron - it is the designer
who brings a cover to life and the
software is just the tool to reach
what is in your mind.

It's just with making a photo; some people
making much better pics with an instamatic
than others with much better camera's.
